We dined during the week at 7 PM. This meant Nota was lively when we arrived with the pre-opera crowd, then quickly quiet and nice about 30 minutes later. It then got busy again again as we were leaving. But the food was consistently great. I had the seared big eye rare tuna and my wife had the charred wild... More

I last reviewed this in spring 2013 and have been back a few times since. The quality continues to be superb, the prices I quoted then went up by $3 which is fine. They have roast beef ribs on the menu now which was outstanding and "Mediterranean Sea Bass" (branzino) which is also exceptionally well done. On my last visit,... More

It was delightful dining experience in W Queen Street in Toronto. We were guided to our table - server were just awesome. Started with unique appetizers. Unique Euro-asian antipasti placed elegantly on a wooden board - awesome presentation; assortment of vegetables and fresh mozzarella over a tangy spice sauce (Mozzarella di Bufala), tiny cut pickles, Big Eye Tuna Sashimi, etc.... No problem finding a table after the opera. Soon we discovered why. Braised rabbit tasted about as interesting as stew out of a can. Digby scallops and rapini were likewise bland. Shaved onion rings were more like a garnish than a side. The food came quickly, but this was part of the problem. My suspicion (or theory) is that the... More

Wonderful food in a classy place with understated elegance. Our experience was enhanced by the impeccable attention paid to us by Alanna Stuart who took the time on a very busy night to ensure our expectations were met, and they were.

Many have already commented on the fare at this Queen street West establishment but another one cannot hurt. My wife and I enjoyed an early dinner as we had tickets to a major musical in the area. While the restaurant was not full initially, it certainly filled up as the evening progressed. But the key thing is that we were... More

You won't go wrong eating here, whether for lunch or dinner. This is one great restaurant. If your lucky to get a window seat, the view is interesting. The food and wine list are outstanding.

We have eaten at Nota Bene before on previous trips to Toronto, but it has been a couple of years and we were pleased to see that the quality and the service are still excellent. I forced myself to have something other than the crispy duck salad (my favourite) and was delighted with the lobster salad. The chef added avocado,... More

Our experience at Nota Bene was a study in contrasts. Going to a restaurant of this caliber is all about the overall dining experience from atmosphere and service to food and wine. Four of us went there for dinner on a not very busy Saturday night. We ordered the lobster tacos, two salads and three entres which we shared (pasta,... More
