Our experience at Nota Bene was a study in contrasts. Going to a restaurant of this caliber is all about the overall dining experience from atmosphere and service to food and wine. Four of us went there for dinner on a not very busy Saturday night. We ordered the lobster tacos, two salads and three entres which we shared (pasta,... More

Went a couple of days ago with family to celebrate a birthday. There were thirteen of us, ranging in age from twelve to eighty, from six different cities, and everyone raved about the dishes he or she ordered, especially the desserts! All of the adults are savvy travellers, and all were impressed by the food and its preparation. We were... More

Ate here with a group in Aug 2014. The menu is imaginative, the servings are appropriate and the dishes are well executed. The room and atmosphere is quite nice as well. The only thing I took issue with is the value. The dishes seemed over priced for what they were. For instance, the $38 beef tenderloin was a delicious cut,... More

We went here for Summerlicious. The restaurant is conveniently located on Queen street and parking was easy just around the corner. The restaurant is open, airy, and very comfortable. The food and the service was very good. The appetizers were sized very generously. These could have been main courses. There is a $24 burger on the menu and I just... More

Both food and service was fantastic. Restaurant was big and crowded and due to bad acoustics, it was a loud murmur.

We have been regular diners at Nota Bene so it was no surprise the other night when we had another excellent meal. The surprise was that this was a Summerlicious meal where many restaurants pare back on food quality or quantity in order to offer the special priced prix fixe meal. Not Nota Bene.. Everything on their Summerlicious menu came... More

I enjoyed a Summerlicious lunch today at this busy restaurant on Queen Street. The food presentation was artistic and colourful. The salmon on lentils was grilled to perfection. The basil ice cream with a twist of lime over watermelon was delish! The staff is pleasant and accommodated our various requests due to food sensitivities and allergies.

We had the Summerlicious menu at Nota Bene and was surprised at how good each of the courses were even though we weren't terribly impressed with the menu we first saw it. At the end of the meal, we were completely sold by the excellence of the food, the superb and attentive service by the staff - and not just... More

Four went for Summerlicious dinner. A let down. Cocktails were good, but gin and tonic had a slab of cucumber rather than thin slice. Tuna appetizer exceptional. Chowder soup tasty but thought too thick. English Pea ravioli was unexceptional. Nova Scotia swordfish was dry and lacking flavour. A disappointment. Pepper crusted steak was satisfying. Deserts were fine, but cheese selection... More

Our waitress was having a bad night and took it out on the six of us, extremely slow and not helpful in anyway . However once we could order the food came out in good time and had great flavor . I thought prices were fair and the ambience was nice. I would recommend this and go again but sit... More
