My date and I were extremely disappointed with the attitude and service we got our from our server. I was asking if they had any mocktails, and the server says "I don't know, because I pair wine with my food". If you work at the restaurant, you should know your drink list. Some people don't drink because they could have... More

My wife and I recently ate at Nota Bene before going to the theater. Our server was quite knowledgeable and efficient. Due to his bringing the courses promptly we were able to relax and enjoy the meal. The salads were crisp and tasty and the main courses, the pasta special and the ahi tuna were excellent. A dessert of berries... More

Superb food in a beautiful space downtown, excellent service and good varied menu, good for lunch as well as dinner. However it is understandably pricey, but worth it.

I enjoyed the Matzoh Ball Soup with shaved Burgundy black truffle. It was too hot to eat when it arrived at the table and I had to wait for it to cool before I could dig in to the delicious bowl. There was free corkage for any California wine throughout the month of January, so we dug deep into our... More

Ate dinner here pre-theatre with a friend in June 2015. We had wine, appetizers, a main and dessert. All were perfectly cooked and served. great service. Nice ambience and not too noisy to have a nice conversation without shouting. I had the crispy duck salad, the pork chop and the dulce le leche ice cream with salted caramel popcorn. My... More

Nota Bene appears to be a swanky restaurant along Queen Street. The dark wood interior gives it a cam sense of gastro pleasure. Things just seem a little slower here, which is good. However the food is simple and good. We sat at the bar and had the Mushroom Arancini and the Grilled Calmari snacks. Both were hot and flavorful... More

Unfortunately I have been disappointed with the food the few times that I have been invited to Nota Bene. It has a nice environment and is almost in the central business district so is close to most downtown business meetings.

I'd previously dined at Nota Bene and had a mixed experience. My companion and I had drinks and a bite to eat in the bar last night. It's a comfortable contemporary space and, when we were there on a Tuesday night after 9:00 pm, very quiet and conducive to conversation. Service is excellent, of the standard found in high end...
