Seriously Good Pizza

My family went here based on TripAdvisor reviews, and it did not disappoint. We didn't call ahead for a reservation but only had a 20 minute wait for a table on a Saturday night- not bad. I started my meal off with the arugula salad which was light and flavorful. The margherita pizza was one of the... read more

This is a casual pizzeria where you can pop in with a friend, enjoy a glass of wine and fresh salads and pizza. Menu is limited. At Pizzeria Libretto, if you enjoy your pizza "crispy" and not soggy at the bottom, you have to order it "WELL DONE" here. We did and it was quite good. We were there on... More

Went there with a friend when visiting Toronto and ordered 2 pizzas. First of all they were served at different times, so one of us had to watch the other one eat otherwise the pizza would have gotten cold (the second one arrived 10m later)!!)Nobody mentioned that this is the way it will be served and we absolutely didn't expect... The staff at this place are really excellent, and were full of energy and information about the menu, seasonal produce and specials during a recent visit with my family. It wasn't too busy but the kitchen were able to accommodate and suggest a range of "off menu" appetisers and sharers alongside the excellent starter salads and calamari. Pizza itself was... More

I was looking for something not quite so heavy for dinner tonight and ended up at the University Pizzeria Libretto. The inside was nice, the waiter was attentive and helpful in deciding the menu and overall I would absolutely go back. I started with a Caprese Salad subbed with the bufalo mozzarella (well worth the extra money). I then had... More

I've heard rave reviews about Pizza Libretto so I finally got out to try it. They have a wide variety of pizza to choose from. It's really delicious and worth all the great reviews of it. We also got a bottle of wine which was decently priced. Expect a wait to get a table, however there are plenty of places... More

Best pizza ever. Simple, authentic and way fast. This is not Pizza Pizza, folks. This is real Neapolitan bliss.

This is by far the best pizza I have ever had. The ingredients are beyond fresh, combinations are inventive and the pizzas are nothing like you can get almost anywhere else. The beet/mozzarella caprese is out of this world! The chilli oil served with the pizzas is also Amazing. Service is quick, friendly and even though you cannot make reservations,... More

This place was pretty awesome. Great wait staff and ambience. The pizza was a bit doughy for my taste, but I believe that is the style in Toronto.

Undoubtedly a hotspot for those working nearby in the financial district - don't let this put you off, as it's a very nice place to eat (inside and out), reasonably priced with a decent selection of food on offer. The staff were attentive (even though they were busy - I think the place is always busy - be prepared to... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
