Nothing special but a nice place

The four of us went for lunch and ordered from the Lunch Specials menu ($13). The range of choices was OK. There is a choice of soup or salad, plus a starter (spring and sushi rolls, tempura), then a main. The tom yum soup was very good. The seaweed salad was fine though there wasn't much of it... read more

I have eaten here at least a dozen times over the past 5 years. Unfortunately, it appears to have changed hands in the last 6 months or so. What was once very good has become fair at best. Over sauced, jar sauces, tough meat, poor presentation. Nice people who try hard, but this place is unfortunately on the downhill slide,... More

They advertise as an Asian restaurant, however my experience was that they are more of a fusion restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was to match.

Nice setting, food is ok. Not real chinese food but dim sum selections are real. I have been here for lunch a couple of times with friends and the mango salad is very good. But on the whole the menu doesn't really fit my tastes. Service is poor and quite ditsy! We have had several incidents with hair in the... More

I typically love Asian food and thought Cravings might fit the bill for a family that has lots of different tastes. Although the food was edible, unfortunately Cravings did not really make the family happy. In general, the food was too saucy or over done; in same cases, like the beef, the meat was a bit more like jerky than... More

My friend and I went to Cravings this evening. We complained 6 times regarding the lack of service, the food that took forever to come etc..etc.. etc...even had to ask for the bill several times. The only response we got from the staff was that the kitchen was busy. So, I guess that means what? Not going back!

I like to put it this way, " If I had to eat dinner at one restaurant for a year I would I would pick Cravings. They have an extensive menu with 5 cuisine types, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese. The flavours are distinct and rich. If you like spicy, like I do, they will make it spicy for... I visited this restaurant for lunch recently. I chose to order from the fixed price menu, and got soup, black rice maki, and pad thai. It was all very fresh tasting. The decor was really nice and clean. I'll return for sure!

Cravings, like its name, does not look like most Asian restaurants, especially those in Chinatown. The interior is very clean and modern looking. When walking in for the first time, only the aroma and wonderful Asian food give away its ethnic temperment. The tables are a bit tight together and on the Sunday evening we went it was quite noisy,... More

Dined here for lunch. The dining room is lovely, modern, chic, and very clean. White linens are a nice touch. The $12 three-course lunch prix fixe is a really good deal. The regular menu is well priced too. I ordered a couple maze items: the vegetarian gyoza and and UFO (delish spicy tuna over sweet potato) and mango salad. My... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
