First time here, on the advice of a TBay resident....a wonderful choice to meet up for a coffee and light lunch. Five of us, including two kids...everybody happy with their meals and drinks. The room is eclectic, attractively furnished. The little patio out the back might have been nice on a sunnier day but seemed coolish and needs a little... More

Want a quick bite and a great cup of tea when you are wandering around the boutiques in Algoma/Bay area? Delish sammies, savoury soups, quirky atmosphere and fun wait staff! Excellent spot to meet up with a friend or hang out by yourself, because sooner or later someone will happen by to join you. Love it!

I had lunch at this coffee and sandwich place. The soup made fresh each day. The sandwich was really well made and the staff super friendly

This is a perfect place to chill out and have a coffee. The staff is nice, the music is good. They have a good quality free wi-fi. People here are having a good time

This is a neat addition to the Bay and Algoma boutique area. You don't really know there is a patio until after you are seated inside, and on a nice day it would be a welcome change. Parking in the area is limited and metered which is a major negative to relaxed dining and shopping in the area. There is... More

The Bean Fiend looks cool but their hours of operation suck. Like most places in Thunder Bay, they close early so those who work during the day do not have the opportunity to frequent the place. To make it even worse, if you decided to spend your money on food, they stop serving food one hour in advance of their... More

Wonderful latte served in a hand crafted mug and delivered to your table. I have to wonder how the get the milk so thick and frothy. A Saturday tradition. would love another location in the south end of the city.

Great new sandwich menu - not tons of choice, but tons of flavor and deliciously grilled paninis. The recent renovations didn't hurt either, the BF is really bringing a bohemian feel the Bay-Algoma District and has established itself as a hip (ster) coffee shop.

At frst glance,Thunder Bay looks like a nondescript sort of place. But it has a colorful history and loads of colorful personalities and places. There's a funky end of Bay Street, with enviro stores and co-ops and the Bean Fiend is right there with great organic coffee and a relaxing place to drink it. It's like a real coffee shop,... More
