Don't just drive by-Dive in

Don't be taken back by the eclectic outward and inward appearance. The old school retro charm of this diner is exactly the atmosphere that matches the experience. The vinyl covered pastel covered chairs and diner stools are reminiscent of every household dining table in the 1970's. The open style... read more

We recently had a team breakfast at Madelyn's Diner in Stratford when we had a hockey tournament there. The service was excellent and had the team eating within a very reasonable amount of time followed closely by the parents. The food was all excellent from the eggs to the country sausage to the pancakes and bacon. All of us really... More

Atmosphere/Style This diner is a short drive outside of downtown Stratford‎ and is styled as a 1950s / 1960s diner with a bit of "a greasy spoon" thrown in. Food Appearance & Taste The food presentation was simple along with what you would prepare for yourself for a quick meal at home. The food taste was good Restaurant Service Upon... More

We dropped in to Madelyn's diner for brunch a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning with family. We have always enjoyed breakfast and brunch in new locations because it is a good test of how well the place is run. We arrived and only waited a few minutes for a table to open up and be set for us.... More

Contrary to some reviewers we were seated and attended to immediatley upon arrival. The servers were veery friendly and attentive. The food was served quickly, was hot and ample. Coffee was provded as were seated and refreshed several times during breakfast. I ordered decafinated coffee and a fresh pot was brewed. Local papers were available but there is no WIFI... More

We tried the breakfast at Madelyn's based on the reviews read on Trip Advisor. While I won't go so far to say that we won't be back, we won't be in a hurry to do so. We sat at the counter which was empty and waited quite some time before anyone approached us. We had to ask for a coffee... More

Just round the corner from where my brother lives we came after a day out and didn't want to cook. Friendly, busy and good value.

It's usually a good sign when a diner is busy with locals on a Monday at noon. This place bills itself as the "Best Little Diner in Town", but I was left wondering if there might be a better "Big Diner". Blue formica table tops and old tile floors were accented with a more modern paint job on the walls... More

We went in hopes of having a decent fish and chip dinner. Unfortunately it was of the heated from frozen processed fish cake variety and the chips of the same poor quality. Worse was the potato soup which was tasteless and tepid. The butter tarts looked good, but the meal was some disappointing we were not in the mood.
