We found this restaurant when looking for a place to eat prior to our play. It was fully reserved but since we were early (just after 5), we were able to sit at the patio. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. Menu includes a nice variety of small and larger plates - that range from such things as fish... More

Plenty of atmosphere, efficient and friendly staff, eclectic menu, delicious food. This is a good before or after show eatery. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED but they can accommodate early arrivals at the bar or outside. I had no reservation and arrived just after opening around 5:30. The hostess, very friendly, asked if I had a reservation. When I said no she offered... More

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly servers. Food selection was different than expected but turned out to be very enjoyable. We intend to return. Would like to see restaurant open for lunch more frequently than is the case now

We are Stratford residents, but discovered this local gem when visiting Stratford prior to moving here. The menu is eclectic, featuring local produce, cheeses and meats..try the aioli frites as a pre appetizer! Service is friendly and timely and the bar scene after theatre is lively...many of the Stratford Festival actors hang here after their evening performances. DFB Stratford

I have lived in Stratford for over 18 years and just this past weekend managed to finally get out to try Down The Street. My review - WHAT AN IDIOT I HAVE BEEN! I can't believe that I have lived here this long and have missed out on this amazing little restaurant. The meal was really, really tasty and an... More

After looking glazed-eyed at the menu to decide which of the yummy sounding choices to pick for my lunch, I asked the waitress, to help me narrow it down between the classic reuben or the burger. After the first bite of the burger I was Soooooooooo glad I went with her choice. You'll need both hands for this wickedly juicy... More

Sitting outside, weather permitting, is the best way to enjoy this restaurant, whose food is very good. If you go inside, you should be prepared to put up with loud music, usually with a heavy 4-4 bass line. When I asked a server whether it could be reduced several decibels, she informed me that their clientele expected it to be... More

Great service, interesting twists on traditional recipes, tasty food. The tiny sidewalk patio was perfect for a lunch before the show. Wine prices are some of the best we saw in Stratford. We would not hesitate yo go back.

We decided to try Down The Street before going to see King Lear. The room was casual and fun with music in the background. The place became very busy very fast! Good thing we made a reservation well in advance. Many customers had to be turned away at the door because they were completely full for pretheatre service. The menu... More

We were a party of 10 and they accommodated us without hesitation. When you first walk in it feels like you entered a restaurant in NYC! There is music playing loud but not to loud that you can't have a conversation. I loved the small, bohemian feel of this place. Food was amazing and came hot to the table. Place... More
