The food was great, the service good, but the portions too small. 4 Oz of precious herb potato soup and 2 spoons of risotto per portion...i left more on my plate when I was done with my food elsewhere. $200.00 for 2 dinners including wine and 3 courses (did not have time to try the desserts - spent only 2.5... We were visiting Stratford to see several plays and booked dinner at the lovely Prune our first evening on the advice of our B&B owner. Are we glad to have had this experience. We were 4 and each had the 2 course prix fixe dinner which included an amuse-bouche (purple cauliflower cold soup shot ) and petit fours for dessert.... More

We didn't have a special occasion when we visited The Prune--but eating there is a special occasion. They completely merit all the accolades that have come their way over the years. The food and service were top-notch. From the amuse-bouche of smoked salmon on a spoon to the petits fours at the end of the meal, every bite was delectable.... More

All of the dishes are evidently made on site and are extremely high quality, eclectic and innovative. We ate in a elegant and comfortable dining room at the back over-looking a patio. The wait staff were all extremely knowledgeable about the food and helpful to us in deciding what to have. The music when we were there (Bob Dylan, Simon... More

We hadn't eaten there in several years, but went back on the advice of our B&B owners. Excellent service....attentive and interesting. Creative combinations on the menu and solid value.

My wife and I had eaten at the Prune over a decade ago. We found it stuffy, pretentious and over-priced. We never returned. We heard it had changed, and boy was that report correct. Since we were last here, the restaurant was significantly expanded, bought by new owners and completely refurnished. The look is now clean and modern. And the... More

My wife and I went here after seeing Hamlet. The play was excellent and the Prune was a superb follow up. The Prix Fixe format is something that I wish more finer dining rooms had. It made you more conscious of the menu offerings rather than the price of an individual item. Very civilized. Service was attentive without being imposing.... More

Upon arriving one can only notice the beautiful landscaping around this magnificent mansion, situated on a pretty residential street. Upon entering, how nice the new trendy decor is integrated to the old. Now the service is upscale and very friendly. The menu is varied something for every palate. My husband had the most amazing foie gras, not to be missed.... More

I really enjoyed an early pre-theatre dinner at this outwardly modest restaurant in Stratford. The food is excellent and the prix fixe menu gives you several choices of entrée and main course. Service was extremely pleasant and the value for money is above average.
