Although expensive the service was excellent, friendly and welcoming and never hurried. The food was imaginative, well-presented and delicious. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it.

Over the years we have had a lot of recommendations to go here - closely tied with the culinary school - in fact many of the staff are in training, and the resto closes down in the low season and the chef goes to teach. There are now many fine choices at this level in Stratford - Bijou / Red... More

Tony L, Thank you for your comments, we certainly welcome all feedback about our guests experiences. It is true that many of our kitchen members are currently enrolled in the Stratford Chef School, one of the best culinary schools in the country - that being said, both our front of house staff and our kitchen staff are guided under the... This has been a staple of our annual visit to Stratford for many years (it used to be the Old Prune), and the excellence continues. Elegant, innovative, and delicious. Especially recommended are the goat cheese tart and the lamb saddle. One serious irritation is the $6.00 charge for four thin slices of sourdough bread with a little bit of cheese... More

This was our second visit to this restaurant aklthough it had been quite a while. We were pleased to find that the quality of food, service and overall experience continued to be excellent. It is within short walking distance of the downtown area and the Avon Theatre (Stratford Festival). We will definitely be back when we return to Stratford.

The Prune is part of our annual visit to Stratford for the Shakespeare Festival. The food is superb and the atmosphere so relaxing. The carrot salad was whole tiny carrots - purple, orange, yellow - cooked to perfection and sitting atop little dabs of different flavoured sauces - divine. I followed this with the slow-cooked salmon served on dashi, daikon,... More

The food at the Prune is exquisite - it deserves a Michelin star - the wait staff are excellent with great service not at all intrusive.

We have eaten at The Prune many times on our annual pilgrimage to Stratford to see Shakespearean plays. We had a fabulous meal here this time with each member of our party of 5 ordering mostly different dishes - each one was fantastic. Service was attentive and excellent allowing us plenty of time to get to our performance on time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my three course meal and wished I had room for more. It was a relaxed evening after the theatre crowd and the duck was perfection and a feast for the eyes as well. The chicken mousse was a beautiful starter, albeit enough for the two of us. Wine recommendations by the glass were most well matched for... More

The heritage house is decorated in soothing neutrals, with large modern paintings. Classical music floats through. The service is very deferential and knowledgeable and the food! Goat cheese tart with curried celery root and pecans, Cornish hens, Chocolate mousse! Everything was inventive, fresh and cooked to perfection. Portions are small, but elegantly presented and satisfying.
