Great food is about passion and our chefs have it in spades. Our kitchen team draws inspiration from a combination of local, seasonal items with a balance of fine products imported from Quebec and both Canadian coasts. When the delivery comes from the hands of the person who grows the vegetables, raises the pigs, milks the cow or catches the fish, you really start to appreciate the hard work that goes into making things taste really good! Mercer Hall is the perfect backdrop for any occasion featuring local craft beers on tap, Ontario wines and innovative cocktails.

Second time here was looking forward to great meal, have to wait til i cook tonight. food was bland, steak was anything from med rare to well, prawns nice shrimp to those with nothing after shell removed. My wife s prime rib as rare as possible no pink at all, no taste. Service was great, will not return. Very pricey

On a whim we decided to have dinner in Stratford after a matinee performance instead of driving back to Toronto. We strolled along the main street and thought Mercer Hall looked interesting. They were able to seat us even without a reservation. Our server was very professional but friendly. Our drink order was taken quickly as we reviewed the very... More

I had the salmon with morel mushrooms and kale salad with a side of green beans. Very fresh ingredients and the cooking enhanced rather than smothered the taste. The salmon sat on a drizzle of aioli and the green beans were on a bean puree that was delicious. The service was courteous and the ambience is upscale rustic. A pleasant... More

Went for a Saturday night pre-show dinner. We ordered the salmon and prime rib entrees. We deliberately asked that the salmon be undercooked, which they did a great job at. The rice cracker was deep fried (?!?!!!!), and served with oyster mushrooms instead of the sorels indicated on the menu (which was a primary reason for us ordering this dish).... More

Nice atmosphere. Got to enjoy it because service was slow. Sorry to say, but the food was marginal at best. I ordered prime rib - lots of fat and gristle. (Yes, I know it's not tenderloin, but when 2/3rds of your entree is waste, well...) I had a couple of bites that had a very funky flavor. I know, I... More

Server was impeccable. The food was expertly prepared and served. Pre Fixe menu was a bonus. The dining room is stately. This restaurant is a cut above and worth a reservation. We did not feel rushed.

Good food, good service. As others have said, the entrees aren't generous nor do they have a lot of sides. But, desserts are great, and coffee is very strong and very good. We were in at 5pm and out by 7 pm to see Hamlet. A good good evening

Unfortunately the management and chef changed. Mercer Hall used to be the one place we'd go to where we could be certain of an excellent meal no matter what we ordered. Things were always made with such creativity and even simple things were elevated to something special. We even had our wedding meal there, just giving a rough outline of... More

We were disappointed. Service was slow while the restaurant was quiet. Appetizers ( pickled veggies and salmon board) were excellent and well presented. Main course of prime ribs was meager, and could have been plated with more vegetables. All side dishes were overpriced (in my opinion) Ambiance was good/ very pub-like. We did not think it was worth the cost!
