Great food is about passion and our chefs have it in spades. Our kitchen team draws inspiration from a combination of local, seasonal items with a balance of fine products imported from Quebec and both Canadian coasts. When the delivery comes from the hands of the person who grows the vegetables, raises the pigs, milks the cow or catches the fish, you really start to appreciate the hard work that goes into making things taste really good! Mercer Hall is the perfect backdrop for any occasion featuring local craft beers on tap, Ontario wines and innovative cocktails.

Wonderful Brunch

Had a delicious Saturday Brunch. The Kimchi Caesars are a must try. House made kimchi, perfect! I had the ramen, with a house smoked trout that was incredible. The service was attentive while leaving us to enjoy. I will definitely return.

Went here twice in September: once with my folks right before a play, and once just with two people on a Sunday evening. Both meals were good, though the truth is that the overall food-to-price ratio isn't great. Then again, this is Stratford, where the bulk of the restaurants don't have to worry about repeat visitors. Good salad with Monforté... More

I made an early reservation for the week before Christmas to avoid crowds and was glad I did as a live band was to play later and by the time I left was starting to fill. The restaurant was 98% empty when I arrived but somehow a lone woman diner always gets sat next to the kitchen door. I tip... More

Met a friend yesterday for a late lunch, had the smoked salmon board. Just right for a light lunch, very tasty. Smoked salmon was delicious; presentation beautiful and slightly challenging with all those pointy and jaunty crisp cracker javelins, made festive with dill snowflakes. Just as it should be. Maybe I did think just a little bit about Mark Critch's... More

Food was good, had 3 courses, and then ordered a pizza that night. For the price paid, I should not have left hungry.

Went to Stratford for the weekend with my girlfriend and was told how good "the merce" was so we went. When we walked in the place was dead but we were asked if we had a reso which we didn't. We were then told we could stay but had to be out in 45 minutes. This is why busy restaurants... More

Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere - we had a table located to the entrance of the WC area - only choice left. Would not choose to sit there again. The steak salad was amazing and the onion rings are a must try. Stuffed chicken breast was good. The batter fried perch had an incredible presentation but not much too it.... More

On Saturday we held a 90th birthday party for my father. We held it at Mercer Hall in Stratford. They prepared a menu that was so good - braised beef cheeks must be a specialty of the chef. The service was excellent. Joel went out of his way to work with us to prepare the menu, supply the cake, and... More

Mercer Hall has been one of our favorites for the last few years - especially loved the sous vide soft boiled egg on the beef tartar, but this year had a so-so meal. The menu has been revamped and wasn't thrilled with the new selection. Ordered the duck which said it came with some greens. Ended up being a huge... More

Skål Hamilton Club October Dinner/Meeting was recently held at the MERCER HALL INN – Restaurant Bar, which is ideally located in downtown Stratford. It was professionally coordinated by Shelley Windsor, owner of this fine establishment. On arrival, we began the evening with cocktails and fabulous Hors D ’Oeuvres which was followed with a choice of Appetizers - The greenest salad... More
