Great food is about passion and our chefs have it in spades. Our kitchen team draws inspiration from a combination of local, seasonal items with a balance of fine products imported from Quebec and both Canadian coasts. When the delivery comes from the hands of the person who grows the vegetables, raises the pigs, milks the cow or catches the fish, you really start to appreciate the hard work that goes into making things taste really good! Mercer Hall is the perfect backdrop for any occasion featuring local craft beers on tap, Ontario wines and innovative cocktails.

Great little gastropub

A very well-curated small menu with outstanding food and service. The roast cauliflower dish with socca is one of the best meals I've had all year. The sous-vide hanger steak in the steak frites was melt-in-your-mouth. The craft beer selections are exceptional. Service was friendly and professional... read more

As a Stratford resident I consider my self fortunate to live in a small town with such a diverse cultural and culinary base. Mercer Hall Restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Stratford on the ground floor of the Lux Mercer Hall Hotel. The restaurant specializes in locally sourced artisanal foods. The chefs prepare imaginative and creative offerings, some... More

Friendly greeting the minute you come in. Sit at the bar and water is there immediately. The 'special' wine was Chateau Smith so of course I had a glass with my pastrami sandwich with frites, house ketchup and dill. Finished up with black coffee which was what you'd like to expect, dark, smooth and rich. A great lunch, excellent service... More

Friday nights great value and flavour for $15. burger and fries OR beer. The only tough choice is whether to go with the fries or the burger. Fun night out.

It seems that a lot of restaurants in Stratford have theme nights. On Sunday nights, Mercer has fried chicken. We went there and ordered a couple of fried chicken dinners and a couple of bourbons. Best combo. The chicken came out in boxes on a tray(a-la the colonel), but the chicken was far far superior. Seasoned and fried just right.... More

Had dinner here. One of us had the steak and one the salmon. Flavours were excellent and my steak was cooked perfectly. The sides are a la carte. There was not a lot of choices but there was something for everyone. Service was excellent. I will certainly go back here. It was a very enjoyable evening and meal.

one of the best meals we've had. Chef's choice for Nosh Monday is better than a tapas meal anywhere we've been. Great food, great variety, excellent service. We love this place.

My fiancée and I were there for lunch. We had the famous pastrami sandwich and the short rib burger. Everything was very good, right down to the house made ketchup! Service and atmosphere were good as well.

Hello Catherine, I am terribly sorry that you had a less than pleasant experience. Please note: we have not had an oyster night in over a year, is it possible you were attending a different restaurant? If you would like oysters in the future, feel free to call ahead and we will order them in just for you. Don't hesitate... More
