I had visited this restaurant in the pars and been quite impressed. My friend and I were there at dinner time, but as we were heading off to see Lear we didn't want a heavy meal. We liked the sound of the gingered carrot coconut soup and ordered that along with an order for, crab cakes and bruschetta with goat's cheese.... More

We eat at Foster's every time we come to the Festival. We're most comfortable planning in advance, so after we bought our theatre tickets last November and arranged for accommodations we booked dinner one evening for Foster's on a night we were seeing something at the Avon Theatre practically next door. I'm sure our reservations were made six months in... More

We eat at Foster's every time we spend a weekend in Stratford and it never disappoints. This time we weren't going to the theatre in the evening so ate a bit later and were able to have a very leisurely meal. The servers were very helpful and pleasant and the food was excellent. We both had the beef tenderloin, which... More

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Great tasting food but the side was minimal just one more potato would have made it a complete meal.......wouldn't have taken much. I realize some restaurants are cost cutting but customers are also looking for the full package meaning good food for a good price. Unfortunately we left feeling disappointed.

We enjoyed our meal at Foster's. Our server was really pleasant and accommodating. Two of our party had burgers ($18 a pop) which were delicious. You could choose your protein (beef, lamb or vegetarian) and two of the toppings. The fries were great. We also tried the lamb curry to good reviews. But the star was the beef short rib... More

Took reviewers advice and so glad I did. Limited menu selection but loved the choices. Friendly wait staff and comfortable atmosphere for a quick bite before the theatre.

After many years of dining at Foster’s Inn for lunch before a visit to the theatre, I was extremely disappointed with my last experience. I don’t typically make reservations in advance as I’m driving in from Toronto and given the amount of seemingly ongoing construction and general traffic congestion it is difficult to accurately estimate one’s time. However I know... More

We enjoyed an early dinner at Foster's prior to a performance at the Festival Theatre. Our friends, who had eaten here previously, made a reservation -- a good plan because the restaurant was very busy. Nonetheless, we received prompt and friendly service from the proprietor's son, Hal. The dishes that we particularly enjoyed and would recommend include moules, crab cakes,... More

Nearly beside the Avon theatre. Not so busy on a Monday when the theatre is dark so that is a good day to go. Food is very good and the servings - huge! The server was very accommodating of dietary restrictions and questions about ingredients. Tables are a bit close together so it must get noisy on a busy day.... More

We were lucky to get a table, as they were full with reservations but had a last minute cancelation. We had an appetizer, drinks, main course, desert and a specialty coffee...the whole shebang! Everything was fresh, and delicious. Definitely would recommend to others and would eat there again...but we'd call and make reservations next time!
