The food was very good. We have the salmon, lobster tails, Oysters Cesar salad. I have to admit our bill was rather large over 160.00 for two people but the food was good!

Food is always a treat here. One of our special places to go for dinner and lunch. Staff are wonderful and friendly always go out of their way to help you. Love the Creasar salad at the table.

We were in St. Catherines yesterday for a ceremony to honour a dear friend. After we left the University we dined at Blue Mermaid. A wonderful experience. Service was very friendly and fun. When we alerted them that we did not have a whole lot of time as we had to drive back to Toronto, the staff were most accommodating.... More

I worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years, a good portion of it in fine dining in California. St. Catharines is not California. Lesson learned. Three positives for the night-- my dinner date (my sister), the wine, and Kelly, the lounge bartender who actually cared that we were very disappointed. If you're used to a server who doesn't... Highly recommend the Sole Atergatis. Sole stuffed with sea food and covered in the best hollandaise sauce around. Service is friendly, courteous and exemplary. Ask for capers with your caesar salad made at your table. Haven't heard of anyone ever being disappointed there.

A little difficult to find at night it is next to the downtown market. Went for dinner after a long drive to the Niagara area. Seafood and steak specialties in comfortable but dark dining area. Piano bar in basement. Family run with a proud tradition of good food and friendly service. Staff very interested in where you are from and... More

We have been Mermaid guests since it opened. Tom and Nick remember you....even if it has been months since you were there the last time. The Mermaid calamari is the best, yes, the best I've tasted in North America. My wife swears by their Greek salad. Our last visit, included those two appetizers, as well as Lobster dainties for her... More

We went there based on Dnatkin review and it was spot on. I would suggest getting dressed accordingly and avoid bringing your kids as it was causing some stress to us during our meal. We have very calm kids and nothing happened fortunately. Despite that they were awesome with us, getting some fries for them. I suggest you get the... More

As you enter, don't be put off by the 1970's decor or the waiters in tuxedos. This is an excellent seafood restaurant with an amazing staff. We were WAY underdressed (in our opinions) but the staff was very inviting and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our children comfortable with "kid cocktails" and to explain everything from... More

This is your server letting you know that I did apologize for your meal and you did completely finish your entire meal even though you weren't satisfied. Had you clearly made a full complaint before finishing your meal I would of gladly prepared you another entree. For the record the sauce was made in the restaurant not in the can.... More
