This was my first visit to Ottawa and La Point was the icing on the cake on my trip to Ottawa. We were waited on promptly with our waitress giving us a radiant smile as she greeted us. My father and I were greatly appreciative of the wide selection of fresh seafood. I, normally being a picky eater, had a... More

Nice, fresh seafood. Expensive, but then Ontario is not noted for its coastline & proximity to the sea. Do have to wonder at the price of a $9.50 (LCBO ) bottle of wine marked up to $32.00).Slow service,we were seated for 20mins. before our order was taken & then had to ask another server to pay our bill ( we were on... The menu here is slightly different from the one in Kanata (where they have an amazing lobster stew that's missing from this location). I had a nice lunch here with my girlfriend and her teenage niece. We shared an order of mussels (we stuck with the classic preparation with leeks, etc.). They were excellent mussels, and we scooped up all... More

had a craving for fish and chips one night during our visit to Ottawa. Our B and B host suggested Lapointe's Restaurant. being a Friday evening and us not thinking we didn't have a reservation - they were packed and we thought that was a great sign. They accommodated us quickly which was very pleasant to see. we did have... More

I have had the pleasure of enjoying 2 fabulous means at Lapoints on two occasions within the last two weeks so i just had to write about it. First visit was romantic dinner and the appetizer mussels in leek and white wine were outstanding. We followed it up with the fishermans platter I ordered roasted potatoes instead of fries and... First of all, note that La Pointe's has more than one location in and around Ottawa. There are in fact FIVE different restaurants. Most reviewers on TripAdvisor have visited the York Street location in the ByWard Market, which is in downtown Ottawa. This review relates to the Orleans location, which is on Trim Road (not Innes Road). Whenever my wife... More

A couple of steps from the noisy bars downtown, We sat on the terrace and enjoyed watching a fire eater on the street as well as a guy playing his guitar on the corner. Service was excellent. Food really top notch. My halibut was delicious.

Lapointe's fish market on the byward in Ottawa definitely offers one of the very best options for fish in the city. You hear so many claims from other restaurants that their fish and chips are the very this and that . . let me tell you that at Lapointe's not only do you get the best batter but also a... More

It was our first time to Byward market, there were so many choices but we read good review of Lapointe's so we decided to give it a try. It was a nice summer day and we sat outside at the patio. We ordered the fried clams kids meal and they used real clams. And it was delicious. We ordered the... More
