Casual spot for a great beer and nice folks

The staff was very friendly as were the patrons. A & L sports a great selection of local beer. I had raspberry stout cask that was very nice on a December evening as the Senators beat the Hawks. I was warned by the staff that Ontario has a law that burgers must be medium well (ovecooked... read more

Haven't been here in the winter before but found the service just as good as during the summer. The beer battered fish and chips with home cut fries were excellent and perfect after a long skate on the canal. The Reuben sandwich was generous (but put more sauerkraut on it please). Nice casual place to gather.

One of the best beer selections in the city. It changes almost weekly I think because every time I go in they have new options to try. The food is OK - you can't go wrong with the basic apps, burgers, and their salads are usually good for a pub. Usually great service and most of the staff known their... More

First off, this is one of the only places in Ottawa that will offer cider in pitcher form, so automatic win there. Their gluten free menu has made this into a regular haunt for my group of friends. Their menu is diverse and from what I've tasted so far, very well done.

Food: my friend was OK with his pizza. My Reuben was not good, although it seemed to contain a lot of meat. Maybe not enough sauce. The salad mix had some rotten leaves in it and my orange juice was fermented. Atmosphere: that building gives me the 1980s creeps and it was full of hipsters. Service: HORRIBLE. The girl was... We were there for dinner and our selections were okay, the only complaint was the service .....I had to go another table to find condiments .......for two the bill was $45. Just okay.

Great for larger groups if you reserve ahead of time. The food was good, and the beer was great! This was recommended to me from a friend, and I feel it will soon become one of my favourite small restaurants in Ottawa. It has a relatively relaxed atmosphere and doesn't take itself too seriously. A great place to hang out... More

As our friends live around the corner from the Arrow & Loon we decided to give their Sunday brunch a try. We were a group for 5 and had no issues finding a table for our group. Our waitress was very friendly taking our orders very quickly as well as ensuring us adults were supplied with sufficient coffee and tea... More

I recently attended this restaurant as part of a large social outing. We phoned ahead to let the restaurant know that we would be bringing a large group, which they said would be fine. The staff seemed a bit stressed that we were not sitting where they had intended us to (understandably so), but were overall very accommodating. The beer... More

We've been coming here for a lunch for awhile now mostly for the rotating taps. They truly have one of the best selections in the city. The food is good it's pub food. Today I had the Philly Pork Wrap with sweet potato fries and the sandwich was excellent I will definitely be ordering it again. I find the staff... More
