While visiting my daughter in Ottawa, she recommended Fraser Cafe for a quiet dinner in a small but intimate setting. Although small, the close quarters weren't really a distraction. Having said that, it can become a bit loud but adds to a lively atmosphere. The server was friendly and accommodating and the food was above average. We opted for the... More

We had our wedding reception at Table 40 in 2012, so we decided to come to Fraser Cafe for a post-Valentine's Day celebration. We weren't disappointed. We started with the Sidestreet Shrimp appetizer which might actually be the best appetizer I've ever had. Our entrees were the Kitchen's Choice - duck dish for me and fish for my husband. Both... The Fraser café is nearby and I would love it to be a regular local restaurant. Unfortunately it is not what it could be. I have experienced the restaurant over the last year or so in three of its modes - lunch, dinner, and Table 40 (not yet tried brunch). Most recently in October 0f 2014. All three experiences have... We visited Fraser Cafe on a recommendation from a family member. The cafe is small and the tables are lined up against the wall and somewhat close to one another. While this seems awkward the personal dining experience still works. The servers were very attentive and the food is excellent. While there are entrees on a fixed menu I would... More

Went back to a favorite, and found the food fairly middling, unlike during the previous visits. Service was great. The bacon around the meat kitchen surprise special (pork tenderloin) should have been crispier, instead of stringy and raw-ish fat. The tenderloin itself, on the other hand, could have been a bit less cooked. A veg kitchen surprise should have really... More

Although the menu is not extensive, what they do have is prepared magnificiently. The service is second to none. The tables are somewhat close to each other but we never felt too crowded. The piece de résistance has to be the Donuts for desserts, a must have.

Went here with friends from work and was totally impressed. Loved the chill atmosphere. You instantly feel like you're in a place where food is a passion. I ordered the kitchen's choice from the menu as everything looked so good and seasonal, having this option made my life easier. The food was incredible, and the service was top notch. It... More

People who live in New Edinburgh have many choices to dine out. And new places are always popping up. The history of Frasers is such: Started where the Works was, then moved to where three other restaurants were and took over the property next door to create a place for people to celebrate parties on Monday night when the restaurant...
