Cozy and friendly - Within Byward Market

The somewhat 'cheesy' promotional board placed outside the restaurant advertising "Fourteen Dollar French Fries (magnificent side order of striploin steak and Caesar salad included)" might make you wonder what you're in for, but that sign is what lured us in for our first visit and we've now been... read more

Unfortunately, this was a terrible experience ! We had a party of about 20 & every single person said that "this was the first & last time". The waitress tried her best, won't take it away from her, but the rest sucked .. from the terrible up-keep of the place (especially the washrooms), to the 2 hour wait before eating,... More

This was our first time at Vineyards and it was a very enjoyable experience, so much so that we will definitely return. The ambience in the cellar was very cool and we enjoyed the underground vibe. The wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. The "wine flyte" concept really added to the enjoyment of the food. We started with... More

We loved the underground atmosphere of the place. We started with beers sampling and ended with Champaign sampling. We loved their expertise and recommendations for drinking, a “must go” place while you are in Ottawa

Charred steak, limp fries, soggy salad. Vineyards used to have a nice Thursday night "date night" special, and the food was better. Tonight we were thoroughly disappointed. The only saving grace for the overall poor service was the waitress seemed to be relatively new, and checked in a few times. Also, the fennel oil with house-made bread is always tasty.... More

The food was good. The service lacking but, not horrible.Food was really good, but the was lacking in presentation. Everybody usually eats with their eyes first. With a restaurant named Vineyards, you would think that their wine list would match the cuisine. Lamb chops were very good. I was happy to finally see Gruner Veltliner on the menu ( a... More

we went in for an early dinner - and ended up eating entirely from the half-price (certain hours) appetizers menu. linda ordered a beer flight. five smaller, tasting-size glasses from a variety of breweries. and I found an absolutely excellent scotch that I had searched for over many years, and stuck with that. we ordered the smoked salmon plate (twice),... Really enjoyed the flights of wine that the menu helped me pair with my food courses. The food itself was not exciting but reasonably priced. I would go again based on my enjoyment of the wine tasting.

With the way we were treated, I'll never come back. We were crammed into a tiny table, & told it was reserved for 7:00 pm. When I said we'd be finished by then, the server said 'Are you sure?' I said 'Well I guess it depends on the service'. While I was deciding on a drink, another server whisked away... More

Food menu has a wide variety to choose from and wine tasting flights are very interesting. On Sundays, there is also Jazz music. Always check out their site to see when they play. Great ambiance amongst friends, family, couples and kids. Friendly staff.
