This is a place of choice during summer days where one can enjoy their great hidden terrasse. Food is good, fresh and they have a very good beer menu with a very nice selection of Ontario-brewed micro-brewies. During the colder days, the restaurant is cosy.

Interesting menu choices from lamb to jambalaya. 6 of us dined, the venison special was reported as very good, the jambalaya was a 3/5 on the scovile scale, not the 5x HOT on the menu, salads looked good, I had the lamb which was served with spaetzle, lamb cooked to my liking. Service slow, but pleasant.

My current review might be influenced by time of visit of this restaurant / pub. I visited that around 4 p.m. in October and the restaurant was almost empty. Besides the staff there were just six people including me in the restaurant. Anyway as it was dark, windy and rainy outside I have enjoyed the tranquility, warmth and convenience of... More

Was there after the remembrance day ceremonies and the restaurant wasn't busy but we had to wait a very long time to get our meal as the waiter forgot about us.the food was so so and We would not return. The waiter never apologized for forgetting us.

We attended this restaurant just after the shooting in Ottawa. The downtown was still in a partial lock down. This was the first place we saw as we entered the Byward Market. The menu was limited and did not provide a big selection. The beer was good. Our waitress did not know much about mixed drinks and made a Manhattan... More

I ate here many years ago when it was just the one small dining room. My friend and I were in Ottawa for a concert and remembered that we had a nice meal there. The place has expanded and now takes reservations. It was busy but the host asked us to come back in about 45 minutes and he would... More

The food is very good. In fact, my meal was memorable. Staff were terrific. I have to note that the drinks menu is a bit unique and I have been able to discover some really interesting beers that I wouldn't have found otherwise. Give this place a try if you are in Ottawa.

I first visited this restaurant a number of years ago and found it interesting and welcoming...this year I would say not so much. Staff were pleasant, menu limited and the room beyond loud. I think and hope this restaurant could do better with a more focused approach ...seemed like a road house trying to be something more..all based on the... More

We went Ottawa quite often to visit our son in the university. We tried most restaurants at the area. This is the worst one. Went there after rush lunch hour, not busy with three wait staff working. However we were left sitting there for almost 20 minutes till the waiter came to our table. I tried to order both food... More
