I've eaten many times at this restaurant for dim sum at lunchtime, but not very recently. However, my family decided to have dinner at the Mandarin Ogilvie last week. We are used to the wonderful Thai food at Khao Thai, and hoped to re-create that kind of experience. What a disappointment. The food was just barely acceptable - the red... More

Enjoyed the dim sum as other visits to Ottawa. Quickly rotating items. Standouts--coriander pork and pork bun. BBQ pork the only disappointment.

One thing I like about this place is the mix of Chinese and Thai. They have the two menus mixed in one. For instance if you wanted to get Tom Yum soup(very good) for a starter but didn't feel like a Thai meal that's fine. You can order one of a very large selection of authentic Chinese food here as... We decided to try Mandarin Ogilvie, because of the positive reviews we have read on this site, and elsewhere. We got take out for 2 - to the tune of $70.00, and the food very quickly hit the garbage can. It was the worst Chinese food that we have ever eaten - anywhere! Doughy, soggy, and greasy spring rolls, with... More

We went to the Mandarin Ogilvie for dim sum last week. This has been our favorite Ottawa restaurant for quality Chinese food for years and years. In the last few years, we've tended to go for dim sum, rather than an evening dinner. Wonderful cart service, as well as menu items. As we normally do, we ordered greens, this time... More

It had been several years since we had been to the Mandarin. We had friends in town and decided to go for Peking duck. It was as good as the last time we had it. We had the three dishes: skin, soup and stir fry. We also added an extra dish of Thai noodles. The service was friendly but maybe... More

All the dim sum is fresh and delicious, the dim sum comes on a cart pushed around the restaurant. Try the ginger squid, Har Gow, glassy veggie dumplings. The downside, the parking is limited, and sometimes can get really noisy when it's busy.

We made a reservation for 4 on a Saturday at noon, and when I arrived at the restaurant I realized I need not make a reservation since there were only a handful of clients. We had dim sum and the food was really good and the waitresses were all smiles and jovial At around 2 PM the same number of... More

We've been going here for years. The food is very good, well-prepared and served quickly. Prices are mid-range for dim sum. If you go on a slow day, it's better order food al la carte as some dishes sit too long on the cart & become cold. Busy days like Mothers Day etc are extremely busy.
