We enjoyed our meal in this cozy restaurant. Nice place to go on foot if you live in the Glebe and appreciate the Indian cuisine.
Tasty food, great value for the money, slow service despite being early (17:30) with half the tables empty. My wife and I both had the $15 vegetarian meal, which was plentiful and satisfying, not overly spicy nor too rich. It included rice, veggie curry, paneer and peas in butter sauce, tomato-lentil mix, yogurt with fresh veggies. The naan is indeed... More
The price was right, the food as good as any Indian I have had anywhere (a lot) and the service was wonderful, way above buffet standards. Although there were not that many vegan options the staff pointed out what I could have and brought naan without butter unasked. Flowers in small vases were brought around to all of the spotless... We ate lunch buffet. The stuff was not great. Pretty dated facility. food was tasteless except or their naans
I went for supper with some girlfriends last night on a whim via recommendations from restaurant review websites. It was the first time any of us had been here, and it was an excellent decision. The food was amazing and the wait staff were very attentive and very helpful. The atmosphere was really great too. We had the butter chicken,... More
We have been here many times and find the food ok but love the atmosphere as the place is consistently busy. Last night, our food was greasy and very salty. We ordered 6 dishes and everyone agreed that we are amazed at how good a reputation the food in this place has as nothing was outstanding. It has a great... More
Went to Taj Mahal last night and took the food to go - a convenient option for what actually is fresh, tasty food. We've been there quite a few times before, and while the food has varied, it varies between good and very good, but never any worse. Their Murgh makhani is my favourite choice - I recognise that this... More
Great buffet with a large selection of dishes. Lots of flavor, but could have used more spice in some items. I know they are trying to please everyone, but really, I went for the Indian food, it's meant to be spicy.
We dine out frequently, but we are regulars only at the Taj Mahal. In spite of it being 30 minutes from our home, we rely on this restaurant to provide a great experience, each and every time. There is no other place in Ottawa, at which we can combine a pleasant environment and very attentive service, with refined Indian cuisine.... More
Went to the Taj Mahal for our anniversary dinner, after considering other Indian options. Service was quick and attentive, food was delicious, especially the meat dishes - so tender. Will be back soon for more.
