A good friend of mine referred me to this restaurant and I couldn't be happier! The staff was very fast and friendly, which was a HUGE plus! We ordered Tacos del Norte and Rollos de Pollo and everything was delicious! Great place for a romantic date. Completely exceeded my expectations! Highly recommended!

We dropped in to listen to the jazz ensemble. Unfortunately the sound system was not working. Sound technician was frustrated with the arrangements and so were the clients. Expectations to serve good food, sizzling drinks and smooth jazz maybe too much for management?

We were there on a nice warm day and the front windows were open. After sitting down and ordering, a staff member decided to clean the bar, which was near our table. Instead of spraying the cleaning product onto the cloth, she sprayed the cleaning solution into the air, aiming at the bar, however, because the front windows were open,... More

We strolled through the Byward Market to find a place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, only to find most places full with an hour's wait minimum. We had tapas & drinks in mind so stepped into Mambo Nuevo Latino despite the tepid reviews we had seen on Tripadvisor. Whatever poor reviews we had read, they did not apply this time.... More

For Mexican food it was OK. We ate the nachos and they could have done better with the cheese. A bit dry for my taste,

My family went to dinner Sunday evening in late August. Even with reservations, the place wasn't hard to get into, nor particularly busy which I found surprising. I'd try to get on the top deck / patio. It gives you a nice view of the market and kind of removes you from the hubub at street level. The place also... More

My husband and I decided to enjoy their roof top terrace for lunch. Service Border line non existent. The server was in such a foul mood. She didn't say a word to us. Dropped the menus, and water on the table. The table of 3 beside us left because of her surly attitude. Corrine if you are having a bad... More

I ordered the three tacos lunch plate, it was probably the smallest tacos I have ever had. The price was $14 for this rather poor meal. The chicken was bad, shredded and so dry and overly cooked that the sour cream didn't help. The meal did not come with a salad so the plate was just three appetizer-sized tacos, they... More

After a long day at the National Gallery, we were heading back to our car and stopped in Mambo Nuevo Latino for a drink on the patio. Great service and a nice margarita, but the best part was our waiter (I think his name was Henri) who was just so friendly and fun to talk to. We learned a lot... More

Decent food and very good portions. Some of the best-cooked shrimp and scallops I've ever had! Pretty spicy. Staff was helpful and nice.
