As good as anything we tasted in Kerala

What a treat to find real Indian Thali at home in Ottawa! We started with spicy pakoras and delicous scallops! It's been awhile since we had Kingfisher beer and it's just a good as we remember it from our visit to India. And the main dishes of fish curry -- as good as anything we ate in Kochin... read more

4 star food and 5 star service in a convenient location. Saturday lunch buffet cost $16.95 and consisted of 2 two kinds of soup, 8-10 salad items, two kinds of rice several hot dishes including several vegetarian choices and Salmon curry. Butter chicken was very good. Their version of Naan bread could be better. The service was excellent with topping... More

We went to Coconut Lagoon for lunch, unaware that it was ONLY buffet and no à la carte - as a rule, I avoid buffets. The way a multi-tool does a bunch of things but none of them well, I always think buffets are a whole lot of not so good. The restaurant is a little tight, but still navigable... More

We had been there for a buffet, it was expensive but the food was really very good. However there was this guy on the counter taking payments I found him a little rude They don't have ample Parking there so can be difficult finding a parking However the food really alleviates all the pain.

This place is not much to look at, in that the decor is basic and simple, but the food is very good. Portions are not too big and the price can be steep for what you get (typically entrees are around 15-18 dollars), but the taste is very good. It was rather cold inside the restaurant, so maybe they did... More

I had heard some raving comments about this place. A friend and I went for lunch. It all started with a bit of hardship - trying to find a parking spot. Not obvious. OK - next we got into this very crowded and noisy room where we were assigned the last available table for two. Humm.... When we reached the... More

It was my first time trying this place. Friday lunch times are very busy. You would have to get there before 11:30 to get a seat. Also their parking lot is way too small. You have to park down the street. Food: Small size buffet. 2 kinds of soup (one was ginger tomato and the other was lentil vegetable). A... More

Most Indian restaurants in Eastern Canada are North Indian. It is a rare treat to find a really good South Indian place, and this restaurant qualifies. The vegetarian thali is really good and the serving size is generous. I ordered the Malabar Style Biryani and it was good, but I much prefer the thali. I went for Sunday brunch and... More

We have been for dinner and for lunch buffet. We left both times being very satisfied with the food. It's a no-frills but excellent food kind of place. The lunch buffet has a great variety of salads, curries, and other various dishes, as well as soups. Staff is very friendly. Great value for money. Lots of options for vegetarians. Overall... More

I was very surprised at how good the food was. I went for dinner with some friends and we shared a few dishes. The curry chicken tastes great and look freshly made. The naan bread was perfect, and the rice smells wonderful. The beef dish was second to none, it was moist and tender and hot enough to enjoy but... More
