in previous years, when we have gone to the Firkin and Flyer Pub, it has always been on a summer evening, to sit in the lounge chairs outside, enjoy the warm weather and watch the planes. This time, although in summer, it was a rainy night and, as we were meeting 2 other couples, we went despite the rain and... More

Located near the Ottawa airport, there's an amazing view, especially at night when all of the lights are on. No reservations required and we were seated immediately. This pub has reasonably priced drink specials every night. We started with beef nachos, and I would definitely order these again on my next visit. They were piled high with ingredients, and we... My wife and I met some friends here for drinks this weekend. I ordered medium chicken wings and my wife ordered sweet potato fries. I was surprised that we both had our food within a few minutes ordering, and later I realized that was because the wings weren't fully cooked. The medium wings use Kraft barbecue sauce. I wish restaurants... More

Very enjoyable lunch meal, at a reasonable price. Had the so-called infamous Firkin burger, with its share of toppings (though a tad heavy on the onions). A small issue with the order was promptly taken care of by the waiter. They serve Starbucks coffee, a nice way to finish the meal.

We went to the Firkin and Flyer after arriving at a closed Bambu Restaurant next door. The waitress gave us menus and a couple minutes later told us they only had light snacks as the kitchen was closing. We had wanted to order dinner and she went to the kitchen and came back to tell us we could order dinner... More

Recently dropped by for dinner after a movie. The service was good but we could have used a little more TLC (specials? Coffee?). The biggest problem was the menu - as someone on a low fat, low carb, low sodium diet, I was a at loss to find anything appealing other than a bland house salad. Everything that we did... More

This was a nice pub very close to the airport. The food was good. We enjoyed the decor. Service was slow, but they may have been short a waitress; we were in no hurry anyway. I'd eat here again.

Had never heard of this pub until just yesterday when my wife and I were invited to meet friends there. I first noticed the cool location for the pub - literally at the end of one of the runways at the Ottawa Airport. The patio would be a cool place to sit and watch planes take off while enjoying a... Ate there last weekend, It was very quiet on Sunday lunch. One of our party had the Bangers and Mash but we wanted veg instead of the baked beans. We were told it was a $3 surcharge - and when it came it really was just a few vegetables. Looked like they were frozen veg too. Others had the Butter... More

I recommend this pub if you're looking for just that - a pub! Decent pub food with drink specials nightly. Most recently went there for cocktails while waiting for takeout from the sushi place. Always friendly staff. Enjoy!
