Play is always a top choice for special occasions or date night. The food is always on point and the fact that we can bring a nice bottle of wine for a small corking fee is even better. I usually take advantage of this to bring a vintage selectiont hat pairs well with our top picks. I love the variety... More

Great food, good staff, laid back atmosphere. Small dishes so prepare to mix and match. Good for sharing. Interesting combinations. Pork belly was killer. Orzo w rabbit, not as good. Great in house bread. Take online reservations which is convenient.

I was a wedding organizer/planner for the wedding of my good friends.During all the prepping and planning, the managers I communicated with were very prompt with their email responses. They made recommendations based on their expertise that were highly valued. The eve. itself went very smoothly. The food was fabulous;the staff attentive and professional. And,all that had been discussed and decided on was in place.This... The service really good, very attentive. The waitress was very friendly, providing us with menu recommendations. My favorite dish was the scallops. For sure the best in the city.

Of the five dishes we ordered, two were tasteless, one was bland at best, the fourth was mediocre, and the fifth was passable. Very disappointing. We expected much more from this chef's restaurant.

This is not "The Mill", of old. Mill St. Brewers have significantly renovated this Ottawa historic site, and created a brewery, gastropub, and beautiful venue. Meals are based on simple pub grub, but with modern twists and high quality ingredients. The selection of craft beer, brewed on premises was varied and interesting, and the decor includes a view into the... More

I decided to dine at Play for lunch on a Saturday and besides their great wine list and service there was really nothing to write home about. The menu didn't have many options aside from wine pairings and the specials that were advertised therein were misleading. The atmosphere was cold and not very comfortable. I may stop-in for another glass... More

A colleague booked us into Play on the day I flew in from London. A 5-oz glass of Prosecco ($9) helped to delay the effects of the jet-lag and a very entertaining English server helped us to feel at home. We dined in the upstairs area which is very comfortable and has a view of the open kitchen. The curried... More

We had a delicious Friday night at Play, The plates are all so tasty and the cheese selection has favour and variety. There is always a great selection of wine and the pairings for the plates makes enjoying wine so easy. Our whole party were very happy. From making our complicated reservations because numbers changed, a knowledge able staff to... More
