Both times fantastic. This was my second time and my first time dining here alone. The bar staff was very knowledgeable about different wines and their food has yet to disappoint. I have tried a number of items on the menu and I have not yet been disappointed. Furthermore, the restaurant was willing to suggest other fine dining establishments in... More

The service was just awesome. We do tons of traveling and it is very hard to find a place that has attentive staff. The food was great, but the best part was after the meal. We enjoy top shelf liquors and most places don't have them. Our Waiter did not know his rums and bourbons so he called over a... More

Play is a very good restaurant located across from the U.S. Embassy. While I would refrain from using and overusing too many superlatives here, it is a good option for a safe, solid meal. Here are a few key points: 1. You enter the restaurant by the washrooms, which is a bit odd, but ok. 2. The plates are generally... More

We were tipped off to this restaurant by a friend. We made a reservation at the last minute, and were very pleased to get a table within half an hour. I was impressed that the person making the reservation actually asked if we had any food restrictions. My husband mentioned that I was a vegetarian, and when we arrived we... More

My wife and I ate at Play for our anniversary for the second year in a row and once again we were not disappointed. The food is top notch, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and not pretentious. Really can't go wrong with Play - highly recommend!

I went there with my family several weeks ago. The service was beyond what I had expected and the food was to die for. Restaurant service in Canada is at best mediocre. In the U.S. they go out of their way to serve you and this is what I received at Play Food and Wine. It was a nice surprise... More

Honestly, I can't say anything more about this place that hasn't already been said. The flank steak was so flavorful we were tempted to order a second serving. For desert, we shared a delicious chocolate pâté which came with yummy toffee toppings. The service was fantastic, making this one of the best meals we had while visiting Ottawa.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the staff at our hotel. It was a great experience. The food, small plate service (size of appetizer) was top quality. They have a great selection of wine. Combine that with good friendly service and a nice atmosphere and it all adds up to a top night. Its not cheap, but well worth... More

I was really anticipating this dinner, given the reputation of Beckta and the chef, and the high rating on Trip Advisor. The cheese platter seemed meagre in its quantity and bland in its presentation. I didn't get a chance to have any cheese because of the limited quantity. The charcuterie meats were tasty but not outstanding. My trout was cooked... More
