Returned to Play for the 4th or 5th time. Stopped in for Sat. lunch and the food, as usual was great. My wife and I chose 2 plates with the wine pairings and all was fantastic. Our server was polite, helpful and efficient, however he suffered from a slight body odour which was unpleasant. I also had a long hair... More

Great meal, lots of small plates, we had 5 and shared them. We brought our wine, with a corkage fee of 15$ but it worth it! Still they have a long list of wines. We will go back when my family will visit us, since we are from Quebec City. They have a lot of floors, i saw at least... More

First off make a reservation as you might not get seated. We ended up at a table over looking the kitchen. We ordered soup which was great. At $8 each. This restaurant meals are geared to sharing. We ordered 3 main courses which we could share. Portions were small but expected. Mains ranged from $13-$18. The scallop dish was tasty... More

After dining here last weekend, I can only conclude that the chef hates vegans. We were seated in the second floor dining area, and the kitchen must think we only eat unflavored vegetables. I had two dishes and neither was seasoned nor interesting, very sad when this place has a lot of hype to live up to. On the plus... More

Located in the market area of Ottawa, Play Food and Wine, offers a great Canadian dining experience. This is a small plates style so yet get to try lots of items. The menu is always changing due to the use of local products. Play is the place we like to take out of town visitors as its location allows for... More

the serving are small but it does not say you have to limit yourself to one item. We had a large group and the sever handle it exceptionally. The Tuna tartar was very fresh and flavorful but needed a little more spice. I also had the skirt steak with frites and it was perfect. My wine was a Malbec Bergerac... More

This was a great experience as we sat at the kitchen bar and watched in wonder as the cooks prepared the meals on a busy Saturday night. The staff were very friendly, the sous-chef even took the time to chat with us and answered our questions. The concept for the menu was interesting and the food was delicious. The wine... More

I've only been to Play lunch. The lunch time 2 small plate special is always good. The portion are of course not large but they are by no means too small. Pack full of great flavour, it always makes for a tasty light lunch.
