Make reservations well in advance. Small room, attentive service, World Class contemporary creative cuisine. The tasting menu is a must. We have returned every year since it opened. Getting better every time. A culinary experience. If you like special moments, just go.

Different, an experience ... the food wasn't exceptional. If you want to spend $500 (with the wine pairing) for two people then do it. It's not something you would do soon after your first visit. BTW it's a fixed menu of about 10 very small courses.

This easily constituted our best night out in Ottawa. Twelve courses, three and a half hours. The menu is fixed and blind (you don’t know what you are having until you are served). You can instruct them on allergies or a few no-nos in advance. Each course is only about 4-6 bites, but you leave full. I am a very... More

This was the last meal on the last night of my 10 day trip to Canada. Indeed, it was the best decision I made! If you do not read the details below, just know that I had the best meal I’ve had in my life, and the reason is that it was a complete package – perfectly executed ‘fun’ food... More

When I think of molecular gastronomy, a few images instantly come to mind: Grant Achatz and Alinea; Ferran Adria and elBulli; tasty science and weird food. I have never eaten at Alinea or elBulli, but I really did want to experience tasty science and weird food so I thought I would try the region's only real molecular gastronomy restaurant, Atelier.... The dishes are inventive, combining tastes not normally paired, to produce the most special culinary adventure. The menu is constantly changing to keep you guessing.

My children treated me for my birthday at Atelier. There are no signs outside just an understated house and number. Decor inside again is understated almost industrial, nothing to compete with the food. The servers were very attentive but relaxed and friendly, not at all 'officious'. The food! Oh the food! So artistically arranged and fancifully named. 12 well-spaced out... More

I have been lucky to be able to experience this restaurant many times and it has never disappointed. I know how much this type of meal would be in Chicago or Boston, so it's always seemed like a "steal". Food is innovative and service is wonderful. Get the wine pairing and enjoy a minimum 2 hour molecular experience (will be... More

Be prepared for wonderful tastes and textures and visual effects . Set menu of many small plates with great wine pairings. Gastronomical experiments, you must be adventurous.Seasonal local food done in non conventional cooking. Service excellent Make it a special occasion or go with another couple who loves a good food adventure.
