A lifetime experience!

The meal assembled by the chef at this restaurant is more so an event for the taste buds. This place takes the paring of wine with food to a molecular level that was very sensational. I have been lucky enough to have eaten in several 2* and 3* starred Michelin restaurants in various countries. This is the first restaurant in Canada that I think measures up to these standards. In the 12-course tasting menu we had this evening there were at least 5 courses that were completely outstanding. You know the experience - you sit... More

I dined several times at this restaurant and it was always outstanding. In the last few years, L’Atelier went from a molecular gastronomy concept to a classical Michelin approach. The owner is one of the best chefs in the world today, a real genius in gastronomy. He trained with the famous Joel Robuchon and he actually exceeds many formal Michelin... More

Had seen Atelier reviewed on TripAdvisor, but had not heard much other than that. My wife and I were watching Food Network last week and saw a competition involving two chefs from Atelier, so we decided to google the restaurant and learn more. What we read really intrigued us as we had not had a full meal using the molecular... More

Eating here is much more than just a great meal. Six of us enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings. Each course had a story told with enthusiasm by the server about the technology (like a vegetable mousse made with frozen nitrogen), the flavour combinations, or the origins of the dish. The food was a charming focus for our conversation... More

For my birthday, my wife took me to Atelier, a restaurant we had read about but never visited. We had one of the best meals we ever had! Atelier is unique in Ottawa where the chef makes the decisions on what will be served each night. We had a wide variety of small, but delicious dishes, all cleverly named to... More

Ever go to a restaurant that's just "ok" and spend $20 on a cheap plate of food and frozen veg? Save your money and spend it on a place where you get true value and a taste experience in Atelier. Flavours are amazing, staff is incredibly attentive (without being offensive or uncomfortable)...so worth the money.

If you are celebrating a special occasion, l'Atelier is the place to go in Ottawa. The food is out of the ordinary and the service very attentive. There is no set menue but you are asked when you make your reservations if you have any food restriction, substitution is provided. There are twelve services and wine paring is suggested. The... Deconstructed and minimalistic. The choices are the Chef's Tasting 12 course menu and you don't read it until you have finished your meal, to take away as a memento. The server explains each dish when presenting it to the table. It is art for the eye and art for the mouth. We took pictures of each dish and I have... More

Be prepared to throw all your food inhibitions out the door and just eat everything on your plate. It's all gorgeous, delicious and one of a kind!
