Birthday Dinner

Three of our friends were celebrating their birthdays. We reserved at Murray Street. The restaurant is centrally located in the Byward Market. We were lucky enough to get a table on their secluded patio. Our server was very attentive. He was friendly and explained in great detail both food and... read more

These guys do it all and do it well. The menu will get you to want to return for more as the dishes are very well thought out, duck is dominant but the variety is vast from the use of cheeses meats and how they are prepared and garnished the combinations become endless.

Tried Murray Street for lunch. While the service was excellent, the food missed its mark. Heavy on mayo and grease, no one on our party of four felt particularly well after eating here. I guess some food combinations (like pulled pork and wasabi) are better left alone. It's really too bad, because my previous food experience (charcuterie and spaetzle with... More

Ok, dans beef is not bad for the first few bits but it was 1 note, the sauce and the sides are just too oily and salty. We also had a pork barley rice, duck wings and pontine. Nothing is great, bit pricy for this quality of food.

I had the gnocchi and my husband had the double down (schnitzel breakfast sandwich). Both were awesome! The gnocchi was one of the best dishes I've ever had in Canada. As my husband pointed out, the whole restaurant is a shrine to Pork. Cute place, quirky decor, interesting menu. It's pricey but it's worth it!

I don't go to Ottawa very often but the last time I went it was recommended to me that I eat here. It was Sunday so they had a brunch menu. I got breakfast and it was delicious!! Cute atmosphere and unique menu! It was packed though and a little tight at our table. As we were leaving, we saw... More

A nice atmosphere - there's a pleasant buzz of conversation, but tables are sufficiently spaced that you're not unwillingly involved in what other people are discussing! It might appear a bit pricey (most main courses are around $28) but the food really is good. Josh's Fish turned out to be a very well prepared and presented piece of trout and... More

Charcutier is a way to prepare and cure meats, generally pork. But this gem of a restaurant is more than cured meats and only pork. The every changing menu is always a surprise. On my most recent visit I had the BBQ glazed duck confit with some kind of Wasabi mustard and sriracha mayo..nice heat. It came with kimchi sticky... More

Don't like pork - probably not worth a visit. Love pork? Don't miss it. Creative menu. Excellent charcuterie with a lot of different options. We started with this - super filling and absolutely delish. Who knew corn on the cob could be SO good. Murray Street. I'd order that again in a heartbeat. Was prepared with cheese, bacon, green onion,... More
