Good ambiance

Been there alone and sat at the bar. I had a very good experience. Nice chat with the staff. I tried the set menu that comes with foie gras and cheese. The 5 courses came each time with a different craft beer. Prices are correct. I'd recommend.

We did not go where to have our Brunch yesterday. Most of the downtown restaurants are closed on Sunday and very few offer something different. We're glad we selected Murray Street Bistro. The place was very busy and we're offered a nice and private corner table. A friendly waiter took care of us. We started with some charcuterie. A very... More

We went to Murray Street during what the call Happy Hour. This runs from 2:30 until 5 every day. Unfortunately, during this time you can only order "boards" and not anything off the menu, with the exception of oysters. There are also drink specials, of course. I'm not a big fan of pates and strong cheeses, but our server was... More

The menu at Murray Street isn't huge and has lots of meats, cheeses, and rich food, with little choice for vegetarians, which is not a problem for us. We purposely selected a variety of dishes from the menu so that we could sample many dishes. The weak dish was the poutine, every other dish was more interesting. The highlight was... More

Murray St was a fantastic find in the search for a high quality meal in Ottawa. My husband and I are serious foodies and I must say we thoughly enjoyed our meals. We shared the beef heart tartare which was full of flavour a must do if you like tartare. My braised ox tongue with sweetcorn was amazing as was... More

This place is so unassuming from the outside. The inside is nicely appointed but causal and comfortable. My husband and I met another couple here for dinner on a Saturday at 6pm. It was starting to get busy but the service was still excellent. My husband started with the beef heart tartare. We all tried it and loved it. One... More

A favourite place obviously for many but we were not a fan. Heavy food whatever way you look at it. Combinations of sour, gravy, carbs, organ meats are the main stay. Too many flavours on a small plate or meal, size. Heavily smoked beef heart tartar But the potato chips were fantastic! Great service, noisy and dark. If gout is in... More

Dined here with a coworker after our flight landed - was a great meal! The charcuterie is excellent - had dan's beef as my main - I might have to go back before I leave for home!

The back patio here is fantastic - exactly the place you'd want to be on a warm July afternoon. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and a couple of happy hour appetizers - one of which was the fingerling poutine (I forgot the actual name). The time we had here was great, allowed us to recuperate before heading out for... More
