I was a little nervous about it being a touristy spot since it is on Rideau street. It turned out to be a good little spot. My friends and I sat there for three hours enjoying the live band and the drinks. I would recommend this pub. The waitress wasn't the friendliest, but I wasn't there to talk to the... More

the best place outside of Scotland to drink scotch. They have over 200 different scotches. You can order tasting flights. The bartenders are knowledgeable and pair the scotches well. Prices are reasonable

This is a nice place in Downtown Ottawa to stop in and have a drink and dinner. I was with four other colleagues and we were all pleased with our food and service. We sat at the bar and Dave the barkeep was friendly, attentive, and entertaining. He is by far the "walking encyclopedia" on Scotch Whiskey. A bustling atmosphere... More

Decided to stop here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Service was bad right from the start. The waitress didn't smile and once seated we had to ask for a kids menu. Even though we had a 4 year old with us, she seemed surprised when we asked for one. In addition, they have areas on the kids menu for... More

Attended a family function in Ottawa. Our party consisted of 3 generations, the youngest being 3yrs. We stopped, quite by chance, looking for a hearty breakfast before a long journey home. Shannon, our server, made us feel like we were visiting friends. The breakfast was excellent and the home made sausage was the best i've had. The pub's atmosphere is... More

In the Ottawa byward market this place stands out amongst the other great pubs. Over 200 varieties of scotch in house and a great menu of Scottish & Canadian food; what's not to like. And... live entertainment & a great scottish decor. I will return here every time I'm in Ottawa.

In the Byward Market, you're given so many choices for food. Dance halls, romantic gems and overpriced food...however we got a kick out of the Highlander Pub. The food & service were both above average (for a touristy location like this), but the thing that stood out was the strong selection of beer on tap. Our waitress was very attentive... More

Had a couple beers and some nachos here - nachos were huge! Beer was not exceedingly cold which I prefer, and service was OK but not particularly prompt or impressive. No aircon turned on inside and it was humid so sat on the patio. There's nothing wrong with this place but it also didn't do anything to stand out.

This is your basic pub with Scottish accents. I came here with friends on a Friday night. The food was OK, not great. Wait staff are pleasant but not particularly attentive. A live band provided decent entertainment. This would not be first choice if I returned to the area.
