It's not for every guy

Although I loved this place it didn't work for my husband. We dined around 4:00 so this was going to be our dinner. He had a scone sandwich with soup. I had the meal scone which was a scone with a wonderful salmon zucchini cream sauce and a very large salad which was fresh and cool with a... read more

Enjoyed a "Sconewich" and coffee. Several interesting sandwich options on savoury scones baked fresh on premises. The aroma is enchanting, service was good, food was delicious and the coffee not bad.

Best scones I ever had. I've tried most flavors and combinations and have never been disappointed. It's a favorite for our family for brunch or lunch. Have bought frozen one and have served them on Christmas morning with jam and Devonshire cream : what a treat !

There's nothing that bothers me more than an eatery that has hidden charges. This place charges 50 cents extra for butter to eat with the scone. I also noticed that the ingredients have diminished, My scone hardly had any currants & what was there were so tiny [1/2 raisin ] there was no flavour.Times must be tough so why do... More

The sandwiches are amazing; a must try at least one morning while you are in town. If you are staying at the Lord Elgin its just in the next building over.

This place is amazing! Skip the Starbucks line up in the Lord Elgin Hotel and go straight here. Both the savory and sweet scones were delicious, as are the sandwiches that they make.

Their breakfast, with scrambled eggs, real ham off the bone, fresh fruit salad including blueberries and red currants on the branch and of course, a yummy scrumptious chedddar scone with ginger rhubarb... It's hard to find - local insider knowledge helped me therefore to find a great little eaterie I would have bypassed completely if left to my own devices in Ottawa. It's inside an office block housing a local art foundation so you can walk through the foyer which displays examples of current projects or enter directly through the entrance on... More

The Scone Witch USED to be in a wonderfully quirky Victorian home. For whatever reason, they moved to a *strip mall like location* on Elgin. Yes, the scones were delicious. And the tea was nice... But the atmosphere sucked rotten eggs. The building is industrial with high, unfinished ceilings with all the duct work hanging out. The walls were gray... More
