TA advisors at last lured the Cheap Gourmets to the Pie Plate and what a trip it was. This unassuming house by the side of the road in Virgil, ON, just west of Niagara on the Lake, was unforgettable in many ways, not the least of which was the challenging entranceway up a sequence of pavestones. Evidently this began as... More

Stop time visiting The Pie Plate. Definitely worth stopping by. Picked up the most amazing apple and apricot pie! Could have eaten the whole pie at once!! Won't be our last visit for pies.

This place gets great reviews, and perhaps deservedly so. But our recent experience left some to be desired. Now, to be fair, we did not have pie, or any dessert, and that seems to be what the place is known for. We came in for a late lunch on a winter afternoon and ordered the soup of the day. Service... I like making my own pies for the most part but after tasting The Pie Plate pies, I will think twice about making my own in the future. A little pricey but worth it!!!

Loved this place. We went for lunch and it was very very good. Pulled pork tacos with pineapple and their special sauce. My man had the pizza and it ROCKED! I'm not a pizza person but holy moly I would get that next time. 2 of us split 3 desserts (paying for it now) brownie, carrot cake and pie. All... More

As a Brit living in Ohio, I'm often on the lookout for a good meat pie. And it wasn't a pie as much as a pasty!! Quick stop for lunch between Toronto and the Falls. Had more of a local's feel than a touristy feel. Lovely place to stop, consider it if you're bored of the usual tourist places in... More

We enjoyed our sandwhiches for lunch. They were very good, but $11.00 for a vegeterian sandwhich on multi-grain bread seems pricey especially since no sides came with it. The one waitress had many customers but did check on us, and it took about 15 minutes for the lunch to arrive after our order.

Came here for lunch with my family and my brother in-law's. The place is pretty small, but despite that we were all seated quickly. Menu is made up of sandwiches, pizzas, salads and a couple of pot pies. We decided on some steak sandwiches, a couple chicken run pizzas, and a margharita one (can't remember the name, but it had...
