Fantastic lunch spot

We found a nice lunch spot, The Epicurean, which doubled as a coffee shop with an assortment of gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads and a small winery where local wines are served. They also have a sizable patio in the back for al fresco dining. Don't opt for a late lunch as you may be limited... read more

This is a dinner review not Lunch as the menus and atmosphere are likely very different. There seems to be new management, but the same great food and wine lists that I have come to enjoy were available. I had the oysters App, and the Steak which I may have died after eating and lived a fulfilled life! Paired with... More

Our light dinner at this place turned out a disappointment; while we were able to share a plate at an ($ 7.00) upcharge, the portion was very small and delivered cool. A request for cheese condiment and spoons to eat pasta took for ever and arrived when finished. Not worth the price.

We chose this place for lunch during our visit to Niagara on the Lake. We were attracted to this place mostly because of the nice, outdoor garden patio on a nice day. We were fortunate to get into a line before it got too busy. You get to choose from a fixed type of menu offering different sandwiches and quiche... More

My husband, myself and our two children stopped in here for a late lunch. The menu offered and nice variety of soups, salads, quiche and sandwiches. We ordered the chili, quiche and salad and a caesar salad. All were enjoyable, not outstanding, but good. We sat on the back patio which was surrounded by lovely flowers. The music was a... More

I enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Epicurean! The lamb stuffed ravioli was done to perfection with wonderful flavour. The waitress recommended a red wine to compliment the entree at my request and she guided me to a wonderful choice that rounded out the meal. Service was top notch with all wait staff and the chef attentive. The outdoor seating... More

The Epicurean is one of the only real fine dining restaurants in town. As a tourism supported village, there are many adequate restaurants that provide good food at reasonable prices. The Epicurean is not another place you run to in order to grab a quick bite before a show. It is a destination in its own right -- a place... More

The rare steak I ordered was cooked medium rare. Our server (Kat) was very empathetic and right away took my steak away to be replaced - we love her. The head Chef then walked over and attempted to convince me that my steak was in fact rare and I was wrong. I refused and requested a new steak to be... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, and I am very sorry for your experience. The situation certainly should have been handled differently. I was in the restaurant at the time, and was shown your steak after it went back to the kitchen. I think most chef's would have called this rare, however, I think what you... More

When somebody uses fine foods in the name it should hold true, even on the opening week of the season. The food was good, not really fine. I guess the portions where more European than American. The choice was quite limited, more a set menu, e.g., if you are a vegetarian you won't find a decent meal.

We were going to see play on May 2nd at 8pm and arrived at the restaurant (which is just across the street from the Royal George Theatre) at 6:30 pm. They had a fixed price menu and we told the server that we had to be at a play at 8pm and were told this would not be a problem.... More
