My husband and I ate at the bar about a week ago. Food was good to excellent. Flank steak, roasted beet & carrot salad and cinnamon-peach cheesecake were great, charcuterie plate, pork belly and coffee & cigar (dessert) were average. The reason for the 3 star rating was the service. The server/bartender was obviously very distracted. Waited forever to get... More

This little gem is located in a small strip mall in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. It has great food, friendly service, freshly prepared food and plenty of atmosphere. The locals call it 'REST' as does their signage so look for this at 238 Mary Street. This was our first visit but it won't be the last.

I went by there today and there was a sign on the window saying they are now closed. I dont know whether someone else will try to reopen but it said the owners had decided to close it

Hard to find (look for "rest" on the sign and ask for the story) but well worth the effort. Burgundy and gray interior, wait staff tops, food undeniably excellent. Well presented. It looked like most patrons were regulars. We will definitely return on our next trip thru Canada.

The appetizer was tasty we shared a cheese platter and deli type platter for starts. It was good but meager quantity on the meat platter. The bread was great. That's where things derailed. It took almost another 1/2 hour to get our meal by then I feel it ruined the meal. I got the halibut it was ok but the... More

What a surprise! The location in a strip mall looks like it will be nothing special. Looks were deceiving. Inside it's beautiful, contemporary, and so interesting. And the food! Let your server recommend food and wine choices--we would never have chosen what he suggested on our own, but it was fabulous!

Amazing meal from start to finish; not one thing we didn't like. Don't let the outside fool you, it's first rate inside.

Best aspect is the much-above-average food and the excellent wine recommended for each dish on the menu. The restaurant is relatively small with the tables quite close together and an elevated sound level to match. Service was very good, but the servers were really hustling to give good service to their assigned tables. Well worth a visit for diners wanting... More

We stop at the Stone Rd Grill every time we are in Niagra on the Lake.It is always very good. There was a little slipage this time but not enough to drop our current rateing as we see it. My wife had a cold seafood platter and I had Tuna Nicoise as our main courses. Both were very good. I... More
