Not as quaint as it looks

From the outside this place looks quaint and inviting. Although the bar tender was humorous and entertaining this place lacks authenticity. At first glimpse one would think it was an old historic establishment, in honesty we were told it was 20 years old. As you look at the décor it is dark and... read more

On the main strip - perfect to pop into to have a gal's lunch while shopping! Service is friendly and attentive.

I am absolutely not a snob and I hate to leave a bad review. I was wondering if I should give this review a 1 or a 2, but I ended up having to give it the worst rating simply because the food. The interior is beautiful, the waitress did her job ok, and the wine (Riesling) was acceptable, so... More

M friends and I had lunch there. The staff was lovely, as are most people in Nuagara on the Lake. They recommended a wine for us that we likes so much that we went to the vineyard on the way home. The food was excellent also. Also a very pretty restaurant with 2floors and a winding staircase.

Last weekend walking around the Village of Niagara-on-the-Lakes and we had lunch on the patio of the Shaw Cafe and Wine Bar. We walked in and requested a patio table as the weather was very nice and they just opened the patio for the first time in the spring. Melissa our waitress was very nice and friendly. We ordered our... More

We went into this place for coffee, and at $5 a pop for a cappuccino, that's pretty heavy. But the inside of Shaw Cafe and Wine Bar is very interesting. The main floor is rounded in a time-from-the-past setting. Take a walk up the wide, circular staircase to the second floor. There, you'll find the wine bar and dining tables.... More

A very nice light lunch and glass of local wine. Reasonably priced for Niagara-on-the-Lake. My wife and I shared a charcuterie board which was outstanding. Their home made sweet onion marmalade is worth a stop itself!! We'll be back.

Took forever just to get a cheese platter we ordered. When it finally a arrived, we were suprised by how little there was on the plate for what it cost. Also, cheese platters are supposed to have a varied selction, but 4/5 were hard cheeses, and 2 of them didn't taste of anything. I will say that the two jellies... More

My husband & I traditionally take a day trip to Niagara on the Lake for his birthday. So, as expected for December, it was a chilly day. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and seated quickly next to the window. It wasn't crowded at that hour and on that day. (midweek) The entire front facade of the restaurant... While we have visited Niagara on the Lake (NOTL) numerous times, this was our 1st visit to this cafe. I fully support paying for quality. This wasn't the case for our recent to visit to this cafe. Service was slow and the food quality did not reflect the premium price we were charged. I understand this is off season for... More
