Good Food, Great Location

Bistro Six-One is on Queen Street very near the Royal George and Courthouse Theatres at the Shaw Festival. There's a very extensive meal and everything is reasonably priced. We both had a salad and the Chicken Florantine, but everything we saw people eating looked great. The woman sitting next to... read more

We shared: the hot Asiago and artichoke appetizer--plentiful, rich and flavourful, the Caesar salad--fresh but ordinary, and a wood-fired meat lovers pizza--one of the best we've ever had. The crust was thin & crispy, the toppings balanced with mild ham and spicy sausage. Welcoming and efficient server. Worth returning to.

We randomly chose this restaurant for lunch while walking in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Most of the dishes were more or less OK, but there were several shortcomings. For example, the artichoke dip was OK, but the toast that came with it was charred at the edges. Most surprisingly, the two portions of fries that we ordered on the side, consisted largely of... My friend recommended we eat at this restaurant that she has frequented with her husband and loves very much. Bistro 61 may have had an off night because the lobster ravioli I ordered was not at all very good. The cream sauce was very thin like water, and the lobster almost tasted frozen and tough. Our server pointed out it... More

Dropped in for a quick bite while walking the main street late afternoon. Food was excellent and the staff very pleasant and professional. was fairly empty which I hope was simply because of the time of day and time of year. Even so, it was still comfortable.

During our first night in Niagara-on-the-Lake, we had dinner at Bistro Six-One. The food was outstanding. Of the four entrees ordered, I tasted three of them: the maple salmon, the lobster raviolis and the steak. All were cooked to perfection and the service was excellent.

Amazing Pizza, however, steak was so so. Regardless, I'd definitely go back just to try the pizza again.

We are frequent visitors to NOTL but this was our first visit to Bistro Six One. My wife had seen the place on several other occasions and the time was just right today. She ordered the Mediterranean Pizza and the piece she let me have was very good. Primarily veggie and cheese, the 10" 4-slice pie was done with just... More
