My husband selected this place based on tripadvisor ratings. It wasn't an extraordinary experience, but nor a disappointing one. The setup is not so fancy and as many people mentioned, has a lot of collectibles. The owners are friendly (husband cooks and wife attends the customers). We ordered the 2pc halibut spl, a haddock, onion rings and some ceasar salad.... More

All hell broke out in the kitchen while we were waiting for our food and we were treated to a "dinner theatre" while we ate! The waitress, husband cook and cashier got into a huge fight and the drama exploded. It was a little awkward but the food was good!

After all the good reviews we were disappointed. The owners were arguing as we entered the restaurant. The female owner scolded a trio of tourists for wanting to split a meal. We were told they might not have cutlery for take out - turned out they only had forks. The food was ok but certainly not good enough to put... More

In my opinion, I don't know what everyone see's is so good. The fish is just as it looks in their facebook picture - dark and greasy. I assumed it was just the difference in their two batters, but turns out my intial assumptions were correct. They need to change their fryer oil. It tastes as if it hasn't been... More

Food are just average... I am surprised that this place has such good reviews in trip advisor. Location is quite out of way for tourists.

We got this suggestion from tripadvisor but you never know what you're going to get! Well, this place is the real deal. Lisa gets you a seat, takes your order and provides great suggestions on where to visit. Her husband, Clark, is the chef and creates amazing food! We had the haddock and halibut. My husband is not crazy about... More

Discovered this place from reading Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try during our recent trip to Niagara Falls. Quirky little restaurant with antique gas lamps and trinkets (owners are antique collectors). First of all, the fish and chips were DELICIOUS. Fresh chunks of fish the size of my hand, fried in your choice of beer batter or tempura... More

If your'e willing to go a few blocks from the "Corporate style big box restaurants", you will eat & experience some truly excellent fish & chips and good old fashioned hospitality from the owner operators of "Batter Up"! We enjoyed ice cold microbrew beer, crunchy onion rings, & delicious, beer battered, fresh caught Halibut, flown in the night before. All... More

So I should start off by saying that I'm not a fish & chips kinda person, but I went in fish eaters. As a veggie, I was worried that there would be nothing for me to eat but I ended up having a ceasar salad and an order of onion rings. I must say, these house-made rings WERE THE BEST... More

Batter Up offers excellent service, friendly atmosphere and awesome fish and chips. The onion rings were the best we have ever had. In reading other reviews of this establishment I noticed one lady commented last week that their couch was dirty. Simply put, that is completely false. My husband I would recommend this dining establishment to everyone!
