We've been to this restaurant several times. Valentine's day, new years, birthdays etc. Last night was a just because. Always good food. Service is polite if a tad slow. 2 hours for a three course meal. Nice date spot to relax and not be in a rush.

Imaginative menu selections, with sparkle. Good-sized portions - and a delicious chocolate mousse to end.

This place is fabulous. By far one of my favourites in the city. Especially for Sunday Brunch. Everything that is prepared on the plate is done with such love and passion. Presentation and taste of the always fresh food is state of the art. The best part of Blackfriar's is the service.Especially Hugh. He has been there part time I... More

Looked forward to Blackfriars. Have been several times and while not the best restaurant I've visited, it is usually consistent and has a good variety of choices. But this time, something in the food and service were very lacking. Cocktail choices were good and the wine selection is not bad. No water was given to us when we arrived. Had... More

Friday lunch June 6th at Blackfrairs was a real treat. My husband had the Nicoise salad with shrimp, mini potatoes, green beans, egg slices, and black olives, very creative and tasty, served with crusty warm bread. I enjoyed the Artisan Leafy Green salad with the chicken breast (add-on). Both selections were innovative and nicely presented. We initially resisted dessert, but... More

This is a small neat room with tiled tables. We began with Cesar salad plus the bacon (of course) and the prosciutto plate with figs. For mains we had the barramundi in a lovely vegetable broth and one of the chefs specials pork medallions exquisitely tender on a bed of caramelized onions mash. The finale was a warm banana bread... Blackfriars Bistro is not my favourite restaurant in London, Ontario. Now, isn't this a strange way of beginning a positive review? My favourite restaurant does not have parking facilities, so, when I was looking for a regular meeting venue for a group of friends and myself several months ago (a restaurant that served excellent food, had friendly service, trained it... A pretty room tucked in a residential neighbourhood near the University. The tabletops, each with a different ceramic design, are special. Service was very friendly and attentive. Busy on a rainy Monday evening. I chose the roasted tomato soup; a fresh and zesty base with many veggies and a feta finish. Pork loin with sweet potatoes, roast broccoli and almonds... More

This is how it's done. From the second you walk in the door to the moment you leave, you have experienced a dining cornucopia of service, style and salacious food. Absolutely brilliant! Kudos to owner and staff.

I went to Blackfriars for Lunch with some co-workers and we were absolutely in LOVE with the place. First, when you walk in the atmosphere is very down-to-earth but sophisticated at the same time. We were greeted immediately by one of the servers and taken to our table. She was very welcoming and just made us feel right at home!... More
