This is a great restaurant; in fact this is one of my mandatory stops whenever I'm in Kingston on business. I have never been disappointed and the service is always excellent. You can't go wrong with the daily specials and the fixed price menu is excellant value. Make sure you try the Creme Brule. Please bring back the popcorn appetizer.... More

My wife and I have eaten at Le Chien Noir on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The food, ambience, service and downtown location are a perfect combination. The only drawback for those who are a little infirm is the location of the toilets which one must access via a rather steep stairway. Apart from this, Le Chien Noir... More

My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner at Le Chein Noir. I'm a fan of quality, with him greatly favouring quantity, so our views on Le Chein greatly differed. I enjoyed the food- I thought it was delicious, although definitely a bit pricey f

The food here is a bit unique almost fusion style. It is higher quality and good. Had lunch here but found the menu a bit limited but you will walk away full as the portions are a good size. Service for food was quick but overall attention could be improved. The place was clean, including the patio cafe out front.

Dad and daughter make a last minute decision to have dinner, and the restaurant was busy. So they set us places at the bar. A great way to enjoy great food, very relaxed. Squash soup, yummy bread, passable selection of wines by the glass, and a splendid couple of main dishes: rack of lamb & lobster .... yum yum! The... More

Very very slow service, the seating was way too cramped all the way through. Maybe the fire department should have a look. I was there while I was on crutches, but even the able bodied people I was with had trouble getting around. Also, even though we asked for a reservation at a table with easy access for me to... More

This is a popular restaurant in town. One of the reasons being that they use a lot of local fare, including organic greens from a local farmer. This is a good thing. However, while eating our salad, we curiously asked about their organic greens - we wanted to know if they come from California as the local gardens do not... More

I would like to sincerely apologise for the unfortunate experience that you had while dining with us. However I would also like to point out that had we been intentionally attempting to deceive our customers with false advertising, as you implied, your server would not have told you that the greens were conventional; in fact we were up front and... I think we should have the option of putting 3.5 star ratings but since I can't I'll round it off to four stars. I think it's a 3.5 star resto but I still like it. I would make it a positively more solid four star rating if there were some improvements to some parts of the menu. I love the... More

We were celebrating and ordered the fixed menu. The Caesar salad was limp and over dressed, the dinner was over cooked, the desert was delicious (I recommend the fruit crumble). We never saw our waiter and food runners would not look at us. After the waiter threw the bill at us, as he flew past the table, we paid and... More

Unfortunately I think you must be mistaking us for another restaurant, we do not have Caesar salad on our menu, we do not employ 'food runners' and we do not serve fruit crumble. Thank you. More
