Bright spot in a restaurant wasteland

Limoncello is on a stretch of Ottawa Street that's mostly tenanted by antique, second-hand, and consignment shops, so if you're hungry and also want a glass of wine, it's kind of the default place to go, And believe me, you could do far worse in terms of defaults. We love to wonder Hamilton's Ottawa Street antique shops on a Sunday afternoon. One of the best parts of the day (and the way I get my husband to agree to go) is to promise to stop into Limoncello for a pizza, a glass of wine and a warm goats cheese salad. It's a lovely place to sit back and... More

Having tried Limoncello for the first time about 10 days ago, I have already went back a second time. The service is incredibly fast and friendly during lunch. I haven't been there for dinner yet. The ciabattas that they serve some of their sandwiches are home-made on the premises...and boy, what a difference that makes! They serve waffle-style fries which... More

Café Limoncello may not be in the best of neighbourhoods in Hamilton, but that Hamilton. The restaurant is open for Breakfast lunch and dinner. I have attended on three occasions and have yet to be disappointed whether for lunch or dinner. I am going back for dinner. The portions as such that you have great value for an authentic meal... Our dinner here was terrible ,there were 6 of us and not one of us were happy with the food we received and we were especially disappointed in the service . It took forever just to get someone to the table , the waitress was not attentive and forgot to half of the appetizers. No one checked to see if... More

Food was ok. The place was clean and pleasant. Service was a fail. Slow, mistakes etc. no proper greeting. No drink request. No "our special tonight is..." Saw they made an error with the cheque at the table next to us as well. Service is a fail.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. Limoncello's is a nice little casual restaurant that we'll definitely return to. Tucked in the fabric district it isn't much from the outside, but the food is terrific. My wife and I both had salad (house, and caesar) and they were both good. For mains we had gnocchi with the rose sauce... More

We have been numerous times to this restaurant because it is close to us. The food is good, but, the service each time we go has been inconsistent. There has always been something that they forget, including items ordered. This last time was on this Sunday past. At one point we (a group of 6) were the only ones in,... More

My friend stopped at Limoncello for lunch and were impressed with the variety of choices on the menu. We finally decided on individual pizzas and waited with anticipation. She was very disappointed with her choice and the pizza had cheddar on it. Very strange taste. Mine was a bit better (Tuscan vegetable) but the artichockes drowned out the other flavours.... More

Everything from rolls to entrée's are made in house and it shows. Great food at reasonable prices. Portions are generous and very well presented. Service staff know there menu and wine list and are very helpful.
