My husband and I went to this restaurant despite the location because we had a coupon. The meals were fabulous the service unsurpassed very friendly and accommodating. A smaller quiet place great for conversations. Priced very well for what you get, so much so we forgot to use our coupon.

My boyfriend and I went here last night for dinner, we had an 8:30 reservation. When we came through the door the owner greeted & seated us. The atmosphere felt clean and semi romantic as it was quite dark. We sat down at the back at a little two person table and they immediately brought us a glass of water.... More

My husband and I started to dine at the Purple Pear 20+ years ago. It was excellent then and even more excellent now. Even though my husband has passed on our family still loves the atmosphere, the cuisine and the outstanding service. Victor (owner) oversees all and goes out of his way to make it an experience to remember. My... More

We appreciated the genuine high calibre service - present but unobtrusive. The lamb is superb and generous portion. Steak was cooked perfectly to order. Vegetables to accompany dinner were tender crisp and created interest in their variety and presentation. Very reasonably priced - we will definitely return.

We tend to dine on occasion every year. some readers are disappointed, some are not. The truth is this is not high end. It has a value, consistency every time we have dined. It is in my mind better than as one wrote better than the Keg. Quality is equal, price better and lacks the noise and rush. And I... More

I'd read such rave reviews of this resto that we decided to try it on a Saturday night. The French onion soup: it was okay, however it was prepared with a puff pastry topping and I prefer the traditional preparation... with sherry, a piece of French baguette, topped with a layer of Gruyere cheese, then baked. The soup at the... More

The owner is very rude, watches over you while you eat, while I was there with my wife he was very rude to a couple that was eating and the food was terrible, the best part of the resturant was when I left and got in my car!

Not in the best part of Hamilton but the great food and low prices are worth the trek. $10 corkage fee was very fair.
