When I first met my partner 40 years ago she was living in Hamilton. She introduced me to the Black Forest Inn. This is German comfort food at its' best. A whole lot cheaper than a trip to the Black Forest. We hadn't been in Hamilton for a while and we were inspecting proprty last Saturday and decided to take... More

185 km from home. This is our 1st but not last return visit. Last here for my birthday in 2011. Apparently featured in 2013 on "You Gotta Eat Here". Lined up w/ 17 parties ahead of us @ 5:30, seated in 30/40 min. Loved it then before a concert, & added to our return visit bucket list. Made a day... More

I LOVEEEE this place! To say I'm not a huge meat fan and pretty picky its one of my favourite restaurants i have eating in whilst in hamilton. I visited in sept 2014 with my partner and friends, i love the theme and how all the staff are dressed in Lederhosen's too. Lovely food and great atmosphere! Cant wait to... More

I remember dining at this restaurant in then 70's. Nothing has changed. Perhaps large platters of fried and boiled German food used to appeal 40 years ago; certainly those looking for heaped servings have come to the right place. But, you know, the flavours tend to blur. Seems to me the soup is redolent of seasoning additive. Looking for something... More

Good Food Good Value. Gets busy some times, but well worth the wait. Good portions of wholesome food.

A little bit of Germany in downtown a Hamilton. Great service. Reasonable prices. Great value. Go with the meals they are famous for. And the German beers.

This is a great restaurant. Always full so get there early or wait. I've tried quite a few items on their menu and haven't really been disappointed by much. The only off item in my opinion is the ham....very dry...at least when I've had it. The décor is very much 70's but I guess when the food is this good... More

Nice casual feel to this restaurant. Older place but well kept. German/European music in the back ground added some ambiance. My jaegerschnitzel was delicious as was the spaetzel. The streets around the restaurant are busy so finding a parking meter may be an adventure! There are some spots (meters) on the side roads behind Black Forest.

We drove from the states to Hamilton for a show at the Aquarius theatre and relied on trip advisor to guide us to culinary greatness. We found gold. What a great family owned restaurant. Delicious food and charming atmosphere. If you haven't had good German food lately you won't be disappointed. Even if you have, eat there.

The Wienerschnitzel is really good. I also love their spatzel and purple sauerkraut. Everytime I come here the food is consistant and good. The atmosphere is nice too. It's just like being in a restaurant in Germany.
