We tried this restaurant for the first time last Sunday and were very pleasantly surprised at the delicious, reasonably-priced food served in a charming, homey atmosphere. Loved sitting under some locally-produced oil paintings and looking out the window onto the river. Great, fast service. Scrumptious food in ample quantities. We'll definitely return!

This place has great history. We really like going for afternoon tea, with the varied bone china tea cups. The scones are really good. You can have sandwiches and other foods as well. At the front they have ice cream. In the summer it is lined up pretty good. You can also rent canoes to go on the river right... More

a surprise party for an old friend turned into a memorable night at the boathouse. Catered food and personal bar with a little kateoke made for a great night out with many friends and family members from far and wide. Perfect location for about 40 or so.

Popped into the boathouse for tea and scones. Lovely little place on the river. Sitting outside on a lovely day added to the visit. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The cost was not over priced. Will recommend to family.

Waiting in line which was out the door, couldn't miss the spiders, spider webs and bugs covering the exterior, When inside, the selection was limited, Not enough fruity options. Not everyone likes chocolate. And wow, pricey, if it was delicious I would have felt I got a bang for my buck.

The Boathouse is a not so secret gem in Guelph. I have been here a few times, once for lunch and three times for ice cream. The tea room is deceptive, as it seems small, but can seat quite a few comfortably. The service is always friendly, and the decor is very pleasant. On our first trip to the boathouse,... More

We used to stop there for ice cream as its top notch. Unfortunately they stopped carrying the one dairy free alternative for people with intolerances/allergies so we only pop in with friends who can eat it and they ALL say it's fabulous! Many little spots along the river to sit and lick away and there is also a wooden covered... More

Take and walk in the park and drop by for ice cream and a canoe rental. Fun place to visit. Too many flavours, tough choice to make.

A local lady kindly shared an afternoon of her time and after visiting the must-see McCrae House suggested going to The Boathouse for Tea. That was a great idea and when the meal arrived on its 3-tiered tray, we enjoyed our little sandwiches, scones and sweets on quaint mis-matched china donated by local patrons. The ambience. with the original eaves... More

We will definitely go back and try more on their menu. Had quiche and it was very good. However the main reason we went was to have an authentic British scone with cream and jam (since it is a teahouse). But the scone was more like a muffin. Completely wrong texture.....That aside, it is a great location right off the... More
