A Pleasant Place for Tea & Ice Cream

A local lady kindly shared an afternoon of her time and after visiting the must-see McCrae House suggested going to The Boathouse for Tea. That was a great idea and when the meal arrived on its 3-tiered tray, we enjoyed our little sandwiches, scones and sweets on quaint mis-matched china donated... read more

We will definitely go back and try more on their menu. Had quiche and it was very good. However the main reason we went was to have an authentic British scone with cream and jam (since it is a teahouse). But the scone was more like a muffin. Completely wrong texture.....That aside, it is a great location right off the... More

This place doesn't look that appealing from the outside but the food is excellent. They have a great selection of teas and portions are good. Baked goods are fresh and wonderful (I am sure there are no calories here)

The location could not be better for an indulgent visit for ice cream. Cute little boathouse, right on the river, canoes slowly going by, geese and ducks and other nature mere feet away, and paths in all directions to walk off those delicious calories. Staff inside is friendly and helpful, however this place can get busy so best to keep... More

The Wife and I had a very nice Brunch. The feel is very much Tea Room with nice soup, sandwiches and salads. The front also host a very busy Ice Cream parlor on hot days. There is a lovely view of the river (at least usually, at the moment the river water level is exceptionally low because of public works... More

I have been here many times for their amazing and generous servings of ice cream. Although I find them slightly higher in price, the watermelon sorbet is definitely worth it with a beautiful walk around their property near the river or across the road at the park.

This was a really nice place for a quick snack, drink, or a light meal. Their staff was really nice, and it felt so cozy. Beautiful view of Speed River as well. I'd recommend taking a bike or walk around the river and stopping here for a bit. You can't miss it, it's pink.

Always enjoy a wonderful, healthy lunch as this quaint spot down by the river in Guelph. From the wonderful tea pots and cups, to the fabulous teas and delicious scones. Try the High tea for two...a fun experience for the taste buds. Add to that they cater to gluten free and when you are done they sell ice cream to... More

On a cold April day my party of four once again visited one of our favourite cafe's. We all had different wraps, three of us had excellent soup and one of my daughters picked the fruit cup to go with her wrap. Three of us had the house blend tea and loved it... really the whole lunch was great. Katie,... More

We love going here in the summer.....the food is fresh and delicious. The staff friendly and polite. The ice cream.....well who doesn't like ice cream. For those of you who love a nice Cream Tea...they do very nice version....although the cream is whipped cream not clotted.
