good place to eat with small town touch

I like it is very easy to find parking, right on the corner of the main street, place is good and service is fine, food is reasonable and a lot of choice too.

I went here because I had heard a friend talk about it a couple years ago and thought ... "Oh - there's the fat duck" Hmmm ... almost needless to say ... i was not impressed in the least. Was really surprised at how dirty and unkempt it was ... it looked like there had been a monster college bash... More

If you visit Guelph and fail to stop at The Duck for a pint you are doing yourself and anybody in your party a disservice. The burgers are dangerous because after you have tasted the magic created in this fine establishment, no other 8oz hockey puck will compare. They are delightful to say the least. Beyond that, I know the... More

Went in to have a pint. Ended up having some food and a few more pints. Was fully enjoyable in all respects. The food was remarkably delicious, a surprise. The chef knows what he is doing. I'll be back...

The Fat Duck is one of our most treasured local establishments. My husband and I have been going there for many years, and the food is always of the highest quality. The owners, Simon and Rose are wonderful, and the staff is always fun! I would recommend the curry chicken pie, the fish specials and the arugula salad. As a... More

We went here for a late lunch, and although it wasn't busy, it took a long time for our meal to arrive. The black bean dip with veggies dish was pretty good, but the poutine was disappointing (not very hot, and the fries were downright soggy). Our server was pleasant, and the atmosphere was great. So overall, a pretty mixed... More

Food was delicious and well-presented. Staff very professional and attentive. Ordered caesar salad and steak and mushroom pie. Delicious and superior quality. Establishment advertises that food is mostly locally sourced. No loud annoying music at time of our dinner. Local pub on one side but not boisterous. Dining booths on other side. Main dish had a side of on-premise cut... More

Turns out, it was wing night. The delightful waitress was a pleasure to deal with. They had the usual staples on the menu, as well as some "gastro-fusion" foods. It was very clear that the caliber of the chefs were above average. Homemade hummus with fresh bread as I waited for my wings. Mine were sauced with the honey-hoisin sauce.... More

Had an enjoyable evening. Nice atmosphere, good food and a friendly server. Only complaint my husband had was that the fries were not very hot.

Turned away from our regular downtown haunts due to seasonal party bookings and live band entertainment (which we did not really want this time round) we made a return visit to The Fat Duck, realising we had waited surely long enough for post-renovation and were glad we did. What a nice surprise! Atmosphere was calm, quiet with those sports keeners... More
