Great Chow Mein, lousy view

Who goes to a Chinese restaurant and orders chow mein anymore? Can we all say "boring?" But here's the deal. Not all chow mein is the same. What's the best bacon in the world: Canadian Bacon. Why? because it is not really like American Bacon at all. In the states we might call it Pea Meal... read more

Went again because so good the first time. Tried sampler platter, chicken soo guy, Cantonese lo main, chicken and brocolli in black bean sauce, hot and sour soup, and Singapore noodles. Everything was good! Chicken Soo Guy was lightly breaded and had gravy that tasted great. I lived in Windsor most of my life where Chinese restaurants are plentiful. This... More

Went to eat here with family visiting from Windsor. Saw decent reviews so decided to dine in here. Restaurant was not very busy, but had a nice view of Buffalo and the river. Food was served promptly and tasted very good. Small things impressed such as actual plum sauce (made of plums) and the hot and sour soup. The crab... More

May Wah is not the latest, fanciest dining experience. What it is is very good Chinese food in a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The owners/staff (the Cheu Family) are very hospitable. The restaurant itself is a little old fashioned, but has a great view of the Niagara River. The menu has many selections, the portions are large, the food is... More

absolutely everything worked out in this stop after the shaw festival in Niagara on the lake, where most food venues are far too costly... terrific little dumplings, lemon chicken (best anywhere in a long time), sesame chicken and extraordinary fried rice with just touch of garlic... we asked for several special sauces and were rewarded with kindness... a great place

plotted out trip to May Wah based on brief lunchtime visit during late summer (see "to a tea), fearful with wife that it might not measure up to earlier visit... wrong, wrong, wrong... this was not only a scrumptious meal, with a gregarious, cheery waiter who twitted the cheap gourmet for making his wife hang up her own coat, but... Nothing special. But this is probably one of the best Chinese style restaurants in the Niagara area. If you are looking for authentic this is not it, but if you are looking for a more western-style Chinese restaurant then look no further. Good food, good service!

boy, hadn't been here for decades, what a delight, and on a fall afternoon watching the Niagara river flow by against a background of foliage... terrific egg foo young and a nice combo platter including a tremendous order of fried rice which had to raise the health quotient... however, the hit of the day was the tea, a delicious brew,... However, in this case, it was amazing. They had a nice wine list to start with. And their appetizers were fabulous. We asked early on that they not use MSG in preparing the food as one of our party had severe reactions to it, and they obliged. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food ordinarily, but every dish ordered...
