After reading all the glowing reviews of this restaurant, we decided to try it out a week ago. We went for the early bird dinner, and as it was a hot day, asked for water when we arrived. It took almost half an hour before it did arrive. We ordered soup, which was excellent, very generous, but our entrees of... More

My husband and I frequent the West Plains Bistro approximately twice a month It's was probably my favourite restaurant in Burlington. We have taken friends there for lunch and dinner. We have made excuses for spotty service and still returned. But today they have lost two customers. Hubby asked me where I would like to go for lunch and I... More

We went to the WPB for a post-internment get-together ... for coffee/appetizers .. maybe dinner if things lasted that long. Not the most pleasant of circumstances and then we arrived - a varied bunch that included gluten-free folks, picky wine people, tea-totlers ..there were just 6 of us (thankfuly, eh?) And yet, everything was wonderful. Everyone was happy. The staff... More

Last Friday we took friends to the Bistro with no fear that we would have a bad meal - two people had excellent Lake Erie pickerel, another the pasta of the day - a mild curried dish, and lastly, an order of the pork tenderloin. All the meals were attractively plated and the appetizers - pates and salads - were... More

After an 18 km. hike in Burlington, my friends wanted to have a beer. We drove around Plains Road looking for a pub and my eyes espied West Plains bistro. And what a great discovery this was! Small, clean and tastefully decorated, and it comes with an excellent wait staff. Nice ambiance. I thoroughly enjoyed the split pea soup and... More

After some Saturday afternoon motorcycling a friend and I dropped in at the West Plains Bistro. Very clean and well appointed restaurant and not what you'd expect from outside. Exceeded expectations. I have to say that the grilled chicken on my Caesar salad was undoubtedly the best I've ever had. Salad was fresh and just the right amount of dressing... More
