Not What We Expected

Had no idea what to expect when I met my partner and her daughter here. First off must admit it was fancier and more expensive then we anticipated. The menu has some interesting options but isn't extensive. I started off with the soup of the day, which on this day was Field Mushroom Soup ($8.00... read more

Asparagus and ham crepes were delicious as was the side salad and great presentation. Chocolate cake was really good too. I took off a star for the service. It seemed that once we were done our lunch our waitress forgot about us. Had to ask another waitress for a tea and dessert menu, never saw our original waitress again?? One... More

It was rush hour and Plains Road traffic was at a stand still so it was a quick decision to turn into the Bistro parking lot and this ended up being a great unplanned pre-theatre dinner for us.Great food and friendly service eased our frustration and we relaxed, enjoyed our meal and made it to the theatre in Hamilton on... This restaurant with its french bistro menu and atmosphere is one of those rare gems in a world where restaurant chains are trying to take over. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, nicely decorated with a personal touch. The food is always very well presented and of a very high quality. I love their beef bourguignon, simply delicious. For starters... More

West Plains Bistro is always one of my favorite restaurants for lunch or dinner. Always great food, fabulous service and wonderful atmosphere. Prices are reasonable with good quality food with excellent presentation. I love the early bird special for dinner and it is a regular spot for our birthday group celebrations. You do need to call for a reservation as... More

Definitely a hidden gem in Burlington away from downtown. Food is spectacular and the specials are so creative and tempting each time we go. The only negative is food sometimes takes a while but honestly, it's so good I don't ever care. It's usually packed so make a reservation as they close a bit early. My boyfriend and I go... More

We went on a Saturday evening for their last seating (7:30pm), we were sat right in front of the door which was not optimal since it was VERY cold that night and people keep coming in, good thing was it was their last seating of the day so once everyone was in the door was only opened once in a... This intimate little bistro serves a wonderful variety of fresh and innovative food. Ambience is soothing. Chef will customize dishes to suit people with allergies or food preferences and there is something for all on this menu. We love the Mushrooms on toast and the Moroccan Shrimp. The salads are fresh and lively with beautiful ingredients. Lovely selection of wines.... More

(love the waiter!) Love the early-bird special! Perfect cozy place with delicious meals .. only one regret .. that it's 4 hours away from home.
