Refreshingly Different

We've passed this place a few times, but finally got a chance to try it. The first thing of note is that it was lunch on a Monday and the place was packed! Be there before 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and enjoy your appetizers for half price, or order a three course dinner for $20!!! We started with the complimentary fresh warm bread, then ordered the steamed muscles, one dish served in a delicious tomato, saffron, chili sauce, the other in a white wine with thyme.... both generous and delicious servings. I... More

Every time when we want to have some thing delicacy, we will choose West Plains Bistro. The food here is always excellent as well as the service. Besides, they always have fresh flowers in the little vase to greet you which is rare these days.

As Seniors we take a lot of ribbing from our adult children because we love restaurants that have "Early Bird" menus. The Bistro has great food period but the early menu is great value and the portions are just right probably what all of us should be eating. They have interesting soups and salads and the mains have great sides.... More

A call ahead as we were running a bit behind was well received. Arrived within 10 mins. of original reservation. Staff very gracious. Service was prompt and unobtrusive; specials; menu questions, drink orders handled smoothly. Food was the best part - majority opted for the Arctic Char special, excellent - cooked just right as were the accompaniments/veggies . Generous portions.... More

I really enjoy my visits to West Plains Bistro. It's cosy and comfortable and the service is excellent. The food is freshly made and tasty. As a vegetarian who eats seafood, I always am able to find something great on the menu. It's also a nice place to drop in late in the afternoon for a drink and appetizers.

This is to say how much we enjoyed Irene's provision of our Canada Day lunch. Everyone just loved the food, which met the highest standards in our family of foodies. We had enough left at the end for another 16 people - instead I distributed the leftovers to my three adult children's families, which again hit the jackpot. In trying... More

We got together with another couple here for lunch based on their recommendation from two previous visits. The menu is varied and interesting. Two of us had a chicken waldorf salad which was excellent. A nice chilled bottle of chardonnay arrived promptly as we waited on the patio under a nice shady umbrella for our lunch-----which, unfortunately came very late... More

Had no idea what to expect when I met my partner and her daughter here. First off must admit it was fancier and more expensive then we anticipated. The menu has some interesting options but isn't extensive. I started off with the soup of the day, which on this day was Field Mushroom Soup ($8.00) while my partner started with... More

Asparagus and ham crepes were delicious as was the side salad and great presentation. Chocolate cake was really good too. I took off a star for the service. It seemed that once we were done our lunch our waitress forgot about us. Had to ask another waitress for a tea and dessert menu, never saw our original waitress again?? One... More
