Cozy "local" serving a wide variety of imported and domestic beers for over 18 years. With our Axminster carpet, dark wood, fireplace and brass fittings, it's easy to see why this place reminds many of our ex-pat regulars of the pub they left back home. Our menu is a cross-section of Canadian and traditional pub fare, featuring fish and chips, house made pub pies and arguably the best liver and onions in town. Live entertainment is on tap every Saturday night. We are close to Hwy 400 making us the perfect stop-off on your way up to ski & cottage country or on your way home to the city. Our patrons voted us Best Pub in Barrie two years running. Come and judge for yourself.

Take out soup and sandwich

Great staff and very friendly greeting. Had the soup and sandwich special times two. The soup, a potato-leek was excellent. The chicken salad wrap was a good size and tasty. The Reuben hough was pretty thin! Two small pieces of rye (must have been from the end of the loaf because no one makes a... read more

Frequent this good ole pub off and on over the years and it is always consistently good. The food is above the normal standard pub fare and anything on the menu you will not go wrong. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food is good....wait staff are good. I think that the location hurts their business as there is not much exposure where they are located.

We had the "Irish" nachos appetizer, with drinks. Place was very busy with a retirement party going on. The waitress was lovely funny and professional. The nachos left very little to be desired, the home made potatoe chips were loaded with sour cream and some onions on the top. IT seriously needed salsa cheese and spices to give it more... More

Just celebrated my son's 30th birthday at the Bull & Barrel. The owners went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure that everything went well with our large party. The food was good, the serving staff friendly and attentive and it didn't break the bank! A nice place for a casual meal, great pub ambiance, would definitely... More

friends and I went there for something to eat and a few drinks (we have been in there a few times before) only to find out it was customer appreciation day....we weren't appreciated at all...... Because we weren't regulars...if that was the case they should have closed the doors and only allowed regulars in..... Bad experience never have gone back... More

I'm not sure what the date of your visit was, but we do not have "customer appreciation" day here unless you count New Year's Day every year when we put on a complimentary buffet (for all guests) and give out mimosas and lots of good wishes. I'm very interested in knowing more details so I can figure out why you... More

The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is above average and a menu with a pub favorites to pasta to steaks. They have about around 12 beers on tap including the usual locals as well as imports. I found the food average, in fact, a little bland. I will probably return but only for a cold one.

Thanks for popping on line to let us know about your visit. I'm so happy you liked our pub and especially good to hear you noticed what a great staff we have here. I'd like to comment on the fact that you found our food bland, but without knowing what you had it's difficult. Hope to see you again soon.... More

Stopped in for a afternoon supper. The place is a traditional pub style set up with a great feel to the place. Our service was good and the beer was cold. The food was sadly just average pub/sports bar quality. It does have a good menu and we just ordered the standard fare. They do offer some traditional pub foods... More

We do offer a selection of wings and "pub-grub", which still remains a popular choice with many of our regular crowd, however it is hard to get a feel for the traditional side of our menu until you've tasted one of our house-recipe pub pies, traditional beer-battered fish and chips or liver and onions. We hope to see you again... More

Some people do find us a bit hard to find but we really like being off the beaten path. There's plenty of free parking and on the weekends when we are practically the only business open, it is a quiet, almost country-like setting. We are proud of our little pub and try hard to maintain the pub atmosphere. That is... More
