We had dinner last night at the Painters Hall Bistro in Barrie. The food was some of the best I have had...anywhere !I had the braised Beef and it was fall of the bone and the taste was outstanding...I believe it's one of their signature dishes...and I can see why.The lobster ,shrimp and scalope pasta was also very good as was... My husband and I decided to have a leisurely Friday afternoon lunch and selected Painters Hall. What a great choice. We had the three course lunch. Great value for the money. Excellent food. We had the PEI mussels, the corn chowder soup, the shrimp fettuccine and both desserts. The house voignier is really good and besides who ever has voignier... More

Yesterday my wife and I were in Barrie to see a matinee performance of Crazy for You at the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts. We chose to eat at The Painter's Hall Bistro. We ordered their fixed price lunch which comes with a starter, main and a dessert. We had the deconstructed egg roll and the PEI mussels. At... More

Wednesday, August 21 - My wife and I went for lunch, our third visit to this restaurant, and left totally contented with the experience. We enjoyed a three course lunch which we could not fault at all. Erin, our server, was gracious and very attentive, making the experience that much more enjoyable. In my opinion, the restaurant's atmosphere, service, innovative... More

Everything about this restaurant has lived up to its name in food, service and ambience. The outside is very deceiving and I was so surprised by the decor once Inside. I felt as if I had stepped Into.a Parisian restaurant -a Avery engaging atmosphere! Our waiter, Jose, was wonderful and as I sad the food was excellent. It was our... More

Overall a good experience, beef short rib is excellent. Not cheap but a nice experience. Service is very well done with the Chef coming out to check to see how we liked the meal.

I had never been to the restaurant and only heard good things. I was disappointed, went for Barrielicious (Summer 2013), a Wednesday evening and the place wasn't totally filled but was really loud. Tried the mussels - had to send back first batch over 1/2 were not opened and the second try 2 were not opened. First round was not... More

We had just come from a trip to Boston and Cape Cod, so when we ordered seafood appetizers, they weren't as fresh as on the coast, but still tasty. We had scallops and the mussels in green coconut sauce. For mains we had pork loin and pasta. The sauces were okay, more like what you'd make at home, mild and... More

A wonderful spot in downtown Barrie. They have a unique menu that never fails to impress. The service is excellent (we had Jose - I think that was his name). They have a great selection of wine, but their draught beer is lacking (only Sleeman). The ambiance is perfect for a night out with friends, or a romantic dinner (our... More
