This was not the original plan for date night but the girlfriend failed to make reservations. As a second choice we ended up at this quaint little spot in down town Barrie. Overall we can honestly say this was an exceptional experience; A pleasant unplanned dinning experience. We visited the restaurant on Saturday November 1st. We thought that not having... More

We accidentally discovered this beautiful restaurant six years ago, had dinner and became a regular. We have since moved an hour away but we have made it a practice to make the trip to Barrie to enjoy the hospitality extended by Shane, Erin and the staff ; to savour the house wine and sample the excellent cuisine of Chef Rachel.... When visiting Barrie we usually go down town for lunch...then for a walk at the waterfront we used to go to a new restaurant across the street from Painters Hall..... but as it has changed management and is not near what it used to be....we decided to try Painters Hall...wow..great mussels, salad and their Hamburger..with a home made sauce...yummy...will try... This is the second time I went to the restaurant, the first was a bust, but wanted to give a second chance. We went on a Friday evening, and boy is it loud in there. All the furniture is hard, so nothing to absorb the sound. The Two couples at the table next to us were quite loud, which was... More

We had a delightful dinner, we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. The tuna was wonderful, the rice was tasteless. The entree was small for a dinner.

Really nice friendly staff with a flare for fine food. Reasonable prices for high quality RICH food. We will be back before Christmas.

A small intimate location with warm and friendly staff. The menu is small but current and you should easily find something to suite your taste. A nice wine pairing is often accurately offered and should be acted upon. My wife and I don't go as often as we should because after each visit we both say how much we enjoyed... More

Due to dietary restrictions eating out can be a challenge. The chef rose to the challenge and prepared a delicious meal. The people with whom I was eating, ordered from the menu and were equally satisfied with their meals. The waitress took the time to answer all our questions, and realizing that we were new to the area made suggestions... More

Very nice atmosphere. Quaint. Much like the smaller restaurants off Queen St. or the Danforth in Toronto. Food was good. Refreshing that it is not a chain and the menu has limited items each night for dinner. Average price point for a meal.

Ordered the burger -- excellent. Service was fantastic, thanks Rosemary! Just what I needed for a business lunch, no fuss, quick and friendly service, clean and pleasant premises.
