We had read that this place got top ratings in local media, so we decided to try it. No reservations are accepted for small parties, so we arrived on the early side (6:30) to be sure to get a table. We got one right away and ordered a dish of gnocchi as a split appetizer; it arrived in good time... More

My husband and I visited a Mano on our most recent trip to Halifax in July. The restaurant itself is lovely and the menu offers a delightful array of truly authentic Italian dishes. Situated on the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, the location is great for a nice stroll before or after your meal. We ate on the patio, and despite the... More

we had friends in from the US and had raved about the food at Amano. It was a Monday night but the restaurant was quite busy. We all ordered app's and a main. The mains consisted of one pizza, which was flavourless, lamb chops which were very good, lasagna which was just OK and another pasta which again was just... More

My husband and I first visited this restaurant on the spur of the moment 3 years ago to celebrate some good medical results. We were there late afternoon, before the dinner rush and it was very quiet. Food was exceptional and so was our waiter. Our recent visit to celebrate our wedding anniversary was a different experience but not in... More

Had a very nice lunch at aMano. All food was excellent and our waiter was very nice and showed a high degree of pride in the offerings. Highly recommend the chicken parm and tiramisu.

If you tire of seafood, this is a pretty good Italian restaurant right off the boardwalk. We weren't wowed by it, and it was super noisy the night we were there. I think they may have been understaffed because our waiter wasn't as attentive as he could have been. We had decent pasta and some nice wine.

Very good food but the restaurant can get a bit noisy, not great for a quiet meal, but good for family and friends. Lively atmosphere. While waiting at eh bar be sure to try the free spicy nuts!

Still one of our favourite places to dine out in Halifax. Our experience last week was at first disappointing and then became quite amazing. It was a Friday night and the place was packed. Even the outside patio tables were packed. The waterfront was packed. We were seated as per our reservation time of 9:15. Thankfully we ordered wine, because... More

My wife and I were away for the weekend and walked along Halifax's waterfront. We were initially headed to The Bicycle Thief, but it was an extremely busy weekend, and it was 90 mins to get in there, so we walked on, and found this place. It was about 30 mins to get in, which was perfectly fine and acceptable.... More
