After reading reviews we weren't sure whether or not to attend the Wooden Monkey. I am not sure why they received the negative reviews that I read because I had a really good meal and felt that the price and value were really good. I had the lamb burger and we also had an amazing chick pea salad. I think... More

When we inquired if there were any local restaurants that catered to gluten-free customers, our concierge at the Westin recommended the Wooden Monkey (saying it was her favorite restaurant). We appreciated that their menu clearly marks items that are (or can be prepared) gluten and milk-free. For a restaurant that prides itself on serving local, environmentally-sustainable foods, they still have... More

My wife and I enjoyed a good meal here on a quiet Sunday evening. FOOD: locally grown and organic food is a great touch. We tried the blue cheese burger and tomato based chowder, we both enjoyed our meal but we're not blown away. The "roasties" which are non-deep fried French fries (oven baked) was probably our fav part of... More

I like a restaurant that uses local and organic ingredients, but then doesn't go to the extreme of only serving 'healthy choices'. We started off with these delicious tortilla chips, maybe it helped that we were hungry, but we thought they were absolutely marvellous, with plenty of cheese, sauce, olives, jalapeno peppers, etc! Entrees and dessert were also good. Prices... More

Based on other TA reviews, we stopped here on a Monday noon for what we hoped would be a quick lunch. Although the servers were friendly and helpful, the service was slow, the food was average for being so hyped and the decor pretty bohemian for my taste. Also, I felt that the value was below average for what we... More

Just a quick one. I've eaten here 3 times and I've always enjoyed it. I always have the seitan donair and I absolutely love it. Wish I could make it at home but I'm not a good cook. haha. Friendly service as well. I'll be back.

Interesting menu, great presentation, beautiful views, lovely decor, average tasting food. Was happy to try out the Wooden Monkey, wished the food lived up to the hype.

Great ambiance here with a blues / jazz band playing live on certain days. We are a mix if starters and tried the whole selection of oysters, which were pretty good, but I did prefer the ones at the five fishermen rest. But the baked oysters did taste good and so did the scallops. Honestly, you would be hard pressed... More

Six of us went for dinner on a Tuesday night and had a nice evening. The raw tacos, the seytan donair and the pizzas were all very good. The cheeseburger was average. Service was good though it took a long time to get the bill. Nice night out.

Had a few appetizers - raw tacos, chickpea salad and fish cakes. All were delicious and gluten free options were all clearly marked.
