It was crazy busy but we got a table and had to wait for service at some points but that's to be expected when a place is so popular. I had the Irish stew which was really excellent and everyone else enjoyed their food just as much.

We had a terrific lunch that satisfied all tastes and appetites. I would have loved to go in the evening when they had live music.

Stopped in at about 8:00PM on a Friday and got one of the snuggery rooms, where the three of us enjoyed a somewhat quieter time away from the noise of the pub. These snuggery rooms are little caves off to the side of the main area that seat about six or so people with two low, small tables. If you... More

We ate here on both our first and last days of a recent tour and meals were excellent on both occasions. We had the Newfoundland Fishcakes which were large and tasty served with coleslaw and baked beans on the first occasion accompanied by Alexander Keith's IPA and a Rickard's Red. The pub was very busy and there were very few... More

My husband and I came in for an early dinner on a recent trip to Halifax and had a seat at the bar. We had a very friendly bartender and great service. The drinks and food were all fantastic and it was very good value. A great way to end our one-day visit to Halifax!

The last night I was not allowed to get in because I didn't have identification with me. I am 40 years old and I went with my husband just to have drink and enjoy our last night in Halifax, it was around 11 pm. The only identification I have is my passport. As a tourist I let my passport of... More
