Good food

A nice pub. Pleasant, cheerful place to get lunch. Typical pub food. Most of the way down the hill towards the water. It's a good walk up to the citadel from here!

This place was great. Quick service. Nice ambiance. An entire section of the menu that is gluten free. The buckwheat crepes were lovely.

I loved the old triangle! Our bartender, I think his name was Kyle, was really prompt and let me sample some beers before I commited, which I loved! The band was awesome, and I heard from somebody else at the bar that the old triangle actually had music most nights! I really wanted to dance but no one else was... More

Our hotel reception recommended this as a good place togo so we gave it a try, and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere of the building is great. I've been to the U.K. and it feels like a authentic pub. The food was great. I had a Dublin Pastie( very good) and my wife had the Corned Beef and Cabbage(also very... More

Many thanks to previous reviewers of this place. Looking for a place to grab some lunch and a cold beer and reviewers rated this Ale House highly. They were correct. There was a mix of locals and tourists and that is a good sign when locals eat there also. I had the shepherd's pie and asked the waiter for a... More

I had heard so much about the Triangle from friends in Ontario that had gone there and had a very happy time. The servers and bartendars are extra friendly. You are made feel welcome. We visited the Triangle in Sydney, Halifax and Charlottetown, and they were all great spots.

A terrific example of a classic East Coast pub, everything you would expect from Matt the bartender (excellent service), great food (try the Newfy Fish Cakes and green tomato relish!) to the music, get there when Rowdy Dow is in town and you can sing along with a few hundred of your new best friends!

Irish music AND dancing, local beer and the best lobster linguine I've ever had! Close to many museums and sites. Nuff SAID!

First stop on our Halifax visit for lunch - good pub menu. Very friendly staff and at certain times great entertainment with an Irish bent.
