Very nice waitress!

Visiting from Victoria and heard about this place through trip adviser. Decided to give it a try. Sat outside on the patio and people watched. Had a nice beer with the hummus plate. Just delicious. Husband had the chowder and said it was just ok. Overall, would definitely recommend it.

We went to the old triangle specifically good good beer, good times and good seafood and we were not let down. We sat on their patio which does not necessarily have the best view in Halifax, but it was cool and in the shade, quiet, not windy and just as nice and relaxed as any other patio. Our server was... Great Irish pub in the heart of downtown/harbor front Halifax. The food and atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Sunday afternoon was an "open session" with people gathering playing great Irish music, plus Irish dancers. A fun afternoon. Monday night was Dave and Louis playing traditional music. Another fun evening. Highly recommended pub!

Let's be honest: you're not going to a pub if you're a gourmand; you're going for a good time. The Old Triangle delivers on this. They have a decent (not great, but good) selection of beer, and on the weekend they have a pair of vocalists playing the usual traditional songs mixed with some more contemporary stuff for the dinner/evening... An employee at the Maritime museum suggested this place when we asked about a local pub. It was close to 8pm on a Tues. when we arrived, and were lucky to find a table for six (even tho the place has several levels & lots of seating.) there was live music, which may have been the reason. (We couldn't hear... More

The Acadian chowder is great: a cross between jambalaya and gumbo. Beer battered fish and chips above average. Nice whiskey choices. Most importantly great live local Irish music. Be patient for service.

A cozy pub with lots of room and some private areas. We had fish bites with fries and salmon with rice & vegetables. Very good wait staff.

We sat outside on a beautiful evening in Halifax and enjoyed sharing their cutting board plate special and a sandwich, which both were very good. Then we went inside and sat at the bar to listen to music from two local Irish musicians and overall had a wonderful time.

Great selection of local ales. Went with older friends about 6pm, and although packed we were finally able to get a booth like a confessional. Initially we thought this would be good but it seemed to syphon noise from outside like a breeze, we heard conversations from outside quite clearly, but could not hear each other, amazing. I had the... More

Located in the downtown core of Halifax just of the water, large , Irish pub style restaurants, very extensive menu, great wait staff, a wide variety of beers bother bottled and on tap, Kitchen Party being my favourite, a nice organic local brew, but high in alcohol ,great taste. This pub offers live music nightly, entertainment is great, not too... More
