I've never been disappointed with Jane's. Fresh and local, and a great value. The only negative I can think of is that the menu rarely changes. It would be nice to see some variety, although the standards remain delicious. more

Was in Halifax for a week in mid-July. At Jane's I had an omelet with herbed goat cheese, pancetta and sun dried tomatoes, accompanied by two cranberry mimosas, and topped off by a coconut cream tart for dessert. I like the place, and the food is good, but I'm not sure I would agree that it is the #1 place to eat in Halifax. It's a fun place for lunch, hard to find parking, and the food is good. more

I have been to Jane's for lunch and loved it. We returned for dinner at a later date and it was quite average. I suspect the setting and facilities lend thenselves well to lunchtime expectations, but miss the mark where a nice dinner out are concerned. more
