1.50 oysters and buck Caesars, brought us in . Stayed for a bottle a bottle of wine , mussles and lobster corn dog. Oysters were nice and fresh, would have liked the option of a mignonette. The mussel portion was huge with a great broth for dipping. The lobster corn dog was to die for, we wanted a few more... More

Everything about this place is special. It's one of the oldest places in town, and has been restored beautifully. The servers are skilled and friendly. The offerings are generous. That's especially so with with the mussel appetizer that comes with three different sauces -- as many as you want! The cooking is excellent, all quite subtly done, and no hurrying... More

A friend had recommended The Five Fisherman and based on Trip Advisor ratings we decided to have lunch there. I had checked the menu on line but did not realize the only part of the restaurant that was open was the Grill. Therefore the Lobster-Sweet Potato chowder was not available which was a disappointment. I ended up ordering the Lobster... More

Nice place friendly staff but the fish was a complete disappointed, not too fresh and over cooked, if your restaurant has a name with the fishermen you do expect fresh and taste!!

We visited the restaurant and we found everything outstanding. The food was some of the best seafood we have had in a long time. The Lobster - Sweet potato chowder was delicious as with the pan seared halibut. The presentation of the food was mouth-watering. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. We finished with the most awesome desserts too!... More

If you are wandering around in downtown Halifax after visiting the Citadel and area churches The Five Fishermen offers a pleasant lunch spot. I had the lobster salad...you just have to it's delicious. Service was sort of cool. The server wasn't really interested in us...which was unusual because other people were so friendly. The restaurant is just across the square... More

My wife and I ate in the lounge. The ambiance is very nice and the food is good, The portions are small and the dishes somewhat overpriced. If you're not very hungry, I could recommend this spot for drinks and small dishes. The restaurant is the adjacent and appears equally attractive, but may have a different menu; this brief review doesn't... I wish I had paid attention to the other reviews before we headed to the Five Fisherman. What we had was by far the most disappointing (and infuriating) restaurant experience we have ever had. Things were wrong on so many levels. CHAPTER 1, THE SOUR WAITRESS. Our waitress (straight brown hair, thick glasses) was straight up unfriendly, and even dismissive.... More
