I wouldn't say it was one of the best meals at a restaurant, but nonetheless it was a great meal :). I ordered two items with the total coming to only about twenty dollars, they were fairly filling and I actually even took some home in a box. Got to sit outdoors on the patio enjoying the summer weather and... More

I hadn't been to The five Fishermen in years so I was pleasntly surprised by both the food and the service. An old friend was in town and she chose The Five Fishermen because she knew one of the servers. We had attentive service and a delightful meal. They had a limited but decent wine menu, the rolls were home-baked... More

I went with a group of colleagues. We were seeking a high end seafood restaurant in Atlantic Canada and we found it. The atmosphere was very nice in that old historic building, the staff helpful and friendly. We enjoyed every course composed entirely of seafood dishes, some great wine choices, coffees, teas and sweets. For visitors to the east coast... More

When you see mixed reviews you have to make your own mind up. Often reviews are related to the expectation driven by the advertising and PR On this basis this restaurant promises much. It delivers; nice room, mirrors and booths; service - frenetic yet with gaps; food - middle of the road. On a busy night it was buzzy, place... More

The Five Fishermen has been our favorite restaurant for many years so we were concerned when we heard the mussel bar was gone but decided to go anyway. The changes were more than the mussel bar. The restaurant now offers a valet service so we didn't have to worry about finding a parking space. What could be better than that?... More

We came in here just before heading home. The service was great, very friendly. The food was superb throughout. Very pleasant memories and a great way to remember final day in Halifax.

Very disappointed with the Restaurant compared to other visits. They no longer have the "All you can eat Mussel Bar", the food you received is over priced for the service you receive. The Atmosphere is not the same, very dry! The only item that gave us the same feeling was the table we sat at next to the window overlooking... More

Our friends and us stopped by for lunch and had the fish and chips and four local beers. The batter was a bit heavy but excellent. Total meal for four people less than $125, tax tip and beer. The waitress was great and told us about the ghost sightings in the washrooms, as the restraint was originally the morgue for... More

Our server was friendly and efficient, and he made our meal here very enjoyable. Decided on the lobster linguine, and while the pasta was not bad, I did appreciate that they were not stingy with the lobster meat. Overall, quite a pleasant experience.

All the reviews seem bad but overall we liked it. The lobster chowder and lobster salad both were yummy. Our server was charming. Yes food took a bit long but this is our only issue. Love the history in the building which was a draw, admittedly. Manager was welcoming to our visit back the next day to chat about the... More
