I have gone to Five Fishermen several times, and enjoy the downstairs's grill more than the upstart's formal dining room. We usually go for oysters, and wine, or a martini or 2, but have had some other dinner courses. I have had the fish and chips, which I enjoyed, and loved the linguine with lobster cream sauce.

What on earth is such a good restaurant doing serving such crappy bread. Even our waiter was embarrassed to serve it to us. The fish dishes were quite good. The mussels left something to be desired; anemic sauce and little flavor. Dessert was OK but nothing special. This used to be a great spot but I might try elsewhere unless... More

Great menu with a range of options for seafood lovers and meat lovers alike - although the seafood really was the highlight. Friendly service and delicious local wine. Highly recommended!

Grabbed lunch at the Five Fisherman ordered the "Lobster Cobb Salad". Thought the lobster would be an 'accent', but found the dish was largely lobster, with a sprinkling of cobb salad accoutrements. It was insanely good, lobster and bacon pretty much summed my taste memory of Halifax. Friendly service, great location, overlooking the park, outside seating when the weather permits.

Had some of the best mussels ever. And the freshest. They are huge! Also have wonderful other seafood dishes

I was hoping for a gourmet seafood dinner at this restaurant with a solid reputation. I had crab cakes for appetizer which was good. The halibut entree was disappointing. It was overcooked and pretty tasteless. Service was also mediocre at best.

I have never been disappointed with this restaurant. Great service and excellent food. If you are a seafood lover, this is the place to go. Excellent steamed mussels to start your meal.

What a disappointing meal we had on October 31. Despite very good service and the pleasant ambiance, the $200 we spent (including tax and tip) on a 3-course meal and bottle of wine (Kim Crawford Pino Grigio) was not worth it. The appetizers were expensive and very small (scallops & lobster ravioli) and the main courses (haddock & halibut) were... More

Five Fishermen located close to the waterfront is a great location and one of the five fishermen in the picture in the restaurant is from my home town. Great food and service and the drinks are great and spirits of another kind have been seen from time to time in this restaurant and has been featured on tv shows of... More

I went here with my family from Quebec. It was very good. We had a great time. I had the lobster taco and I am still dreaming about it!
