Tasty dinner

Very good service and food, we ate outside so the menu was different than inside but tasty just the same. We can see why it's been in business so long!

Very historic building in Halifax. A great selection of high quality restaurant / pub food. Fun place to start off a Friday night and is conveniently located to other bars and pubs. Supposedly it is haunted but from my own experience I have not seen or felt the presence of any entities. Highly recommend this place for a gathering among... More

The building is old with huge stained glass windows. The food is exquisite and the service amazing! I love the mussel bar. Mussels served different ways and they are fresh and local! We usually do lobster at this restaurant but we have tried a number of fish dishes and they are fabulous. This is my favorite restaurant in Halifax.

My husband and I went to the restaurant on recommendation from a relative of ours who had been there on several occasions. We absolutely loved it. We hesitated whether to sit outdoors on the patio or inside. We're glad we chose inside. The patio was a little generic and no one was out there although the weather had finally cleared... More

We ate in the outside patio - I believe it is referred to as the 'Little Fish' . The service was not great - our waitress did run her butt off for the area but it was unusually busy for a Monday night and she , and the kitchen , had a hard time coping .The food was good BUT... More

We were drawn to the restaurant because of the trip advisor reviews. We must have had an off day. It was a Tuesday night. We had reservations in the bar. We arrived and the driver for the restaurant was at the maitre d stand. He said one minute to be seated. We went to the bar and ordered wine. We... More

The food wasn't spectacular (but acceptable). My wife enjoyed her linguini, but my steak was pretty average. The building used to be a funeral parlour which received the recovered bodies from the Titanic.

Had the fish tacos at the "Grill" downstairs at 5 Fisherman. First off, the tortilla was stale. Secondly the small portions of haddock inside were definitely precooked. If I had to guess, the tacos were microwaved (melted cheese a dead give away). If you can't do fish tacos right (fresh) don't even attempt to put them on your menu. How... More
